Peke A Tzu Rescue's Available Dogs

Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

Dazzle
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 5, 2007. My name is Dazzle.
I am a very cute, 7 pound petite Shih Tzu girl. I am silver and white and am approximately 10 years old.
I was found wandering the streets, matted and dirty. I ended up at this really scary place, but all of the people were so nice to me at the humane society. I am so glad they called PATR because I feel safe and am so loved here.
I enjoy all of the other pupsters here, but can sometimes be a bit of a loner. I really prefer Mom and Dad for company and definitely let them know when I need attention. I love to be with them whenever possible. I need a Mom/Dad who can be with me 24/7, no small children and a fenced in yard.
I am working on leash training, am potty trained and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275.
We appreciate Jennifer & Harvey Boyd of Florida for lovingly sponsoring Dazzle.

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 16, 2007. My name is Bubbles.
I am a beautiful, 8 year old, 14 pound blonde and white Shih Tzu girl. I was born on May 9, 1999.
I am a retired breeder.
I am a happy, loving little girl and am on the go constantly. Whenever Mom or Dad talk to me my butt and tail go a mile a minute. There is just so much to see and do here and I want to make sure I don't miss out on a thing. The pupsters are great and I have made so many new friends. I can't wait to find my Forever Home where I will be lavished with hugs and kisses. I would like Mom/Dad to be home with me as much as possible and would love a fenced in yard.
I am working on my house training and do well during grooming.

I am a sweet, 9 year old, 10 pound silver Poodle girl. I was born on January 27, 1999.
I am a retired breeder.
Upon arrival I was rather shy, but with tons of love from my Foster Mom I emerged from my shell and am lovin' life. I really enjoy my laptime and snuggles. My favorite time of the day is romping and playing with the other pupsters. Sometimes I have to coax them a bit, but before you know it they are following my lead. When I had my dental I had to have 21 teeth pulled and only have 5 teeth left now, but that does not slow me down when I eat. Love that food! It would be nice to have Mom/Dad home with me 24/7 and another pupster to snuggle. I also would like a fenced in yard and no small children please.

Barney
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 16, 2007. My name is Barney.
I am a handsome 13 pound, 4 year old Apricot poodle boy. I was born on June 13, 2003. I am a retired breeder.
I am rather shy, but am beginning to get more comfortable as the days go by. I have such a sweet, gentle personality and Mom says she just adores me...whatever that means unless it has something to do with getting kisses right on the end of my nose. I get along well with all of the other pupsters, enjoy relaxing in the sun and loving the freedom to do whatever I want to do. I would love a home where I will be pampered beyond measure and a fenced in yard is a must.
I am working on leash training and house training and do well during grooming.
I am neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW- and am on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275.

Peeka
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on July 28, 2007. My name is Peeka.
I am a beautiful, 13 pound, 8 year old red and white Shih Tzu girl. I was born on November 5, 1999.
My owner moved into an apartment and couldn't take me with her so I went to live with my aunt. They were good to me, but couldn't keep me any longer and were considering euthanization.
I am a very loving little girl once I am comfortable with you. I get along well with all of the other pusters and am enjoying the plush beds and plentiful toys. I do not like anyone I do not know and will growl, bark and threaten to bite. Mom, Dad and I are working on this trying to figure out why I feel so threatened by strangers. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 so that I can have lots of lovin' and laptime.
I am house trained, leash trained and do fairly well during grooming.
I am spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275.

Arpel
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 12, 2007. My name is Arpel.
I am a beautiful 8 year old, black and white, 13 pound Shih Tzu girl. My prior owners had young children and I was not comfortable with them so here I am with all of the other PATR pupsters.
I am a very loving little girl. I like to be wherever Mom is at. I enjoy sleeping right next to her on her pillow, I cuddle up close to her whenever she is working on the computer. I love all of the soft toys and enjoy tossing them in the air and catching them. I am a little uneasy around the other pupsters for I had not been pupster socialized before I arrived. Mom says I suffer from this thing called "Separation Anxiety" and we are working on that. I have a terrible fear if Mom or Dad are not where I can see them and touch them. I will need a home where Mom and Dad are home with me all of the time. I also would love a fenced in area to romp and play in. I prefer no children please.
I am house trained, leash trained, and do well during grooming.

Viva
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 18, 2007. My name is Viva.
I am a beautiful 5 year old, black and white, 12 pound Shih Tzu girl. I was born on August 9, 2002. I am a retired breeder.
When I arrived I had an open seeping area on my neck. I went to this place where a very gentle man checked me all over. During surgery a tumor was discovered and this thing called a biopsy was done and results came back that the tumor was malignant. Mom and Dad sat down with me to explain everything. Because of vital organs in my neck, Doc was unable to remove all of the tumor. Mom and Dad told me that I will probably leave all those I love sooner than I expected. Mom gently cleans my neck daily for even after surgery the area on my neck opened up once again. For now I am thoroughly enjoying life. Although my health is failing, I love romping and playing with all of the pupsters, my appetite is endless and I look forward to bedtime to snuggle in close to Mom and Dad. Please keep me in your prayers and know that I intend to enjoy each day as it comes until I know that it is time for me to join all of those at the Rainbow Bridge. I will remain in the care of PATR and am not available for adoption. I will let Mom and Dad know when I am ready to say my goodbyes and they will lovingly help me cross to the Bridge.
I am spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs.

Chantelle
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 14, 2007. My name is Chantelle.
I am a beautiful, 11 pound, 7 year old black and white Pekingese girl. I was born on August 31, 2000.
I was turned over to a humane society due to biting issues.
I am enjoying being here with all of the pupsters and cuddling up next to them. I also love to be held and cuddled, but on my terms only. I can be a bit alpha at times, but Mom and Dad are teaching me that this is inappropriate behavior. We are all working on my issues and know that eventually I will overcome my fears. I am looking forward to a home where Mom/Dad will be home with me 24/7. I love to romp and play in the yard so a fenced in yard is a must. I cannot be placed with children.
I am house trained, leash trained and do well during grooming. Please click on Chantelle's Video to see me in action!

I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on September 19, 2007. My name is Lily.
I am 4 years old, weigh 12 pounds and am a beautiful white and cream Shih Tzu girl. I was born on January 26, 2004.
My prior owners had me for a short time and realized that I had issues that they felt they could not work through so I came to PATR to go through the Pupster Rehabilitation Program.
I have so much love to give and at times am very, very loving. But, I really am not sure of myself and have a lot of fears. Mom and Dad are working with me on this. I can be dog and people aggressive. I also suffer from separation anxiety...I need to have Mom or Dad in my sight at all times. I know there is a wonderful home out here for me where Mom/Dad will continue working with me on my problems. I would love a fenced in yard and cannot be placed with children.
I am working on my house training and do well during grooming.

I am a beautiful 12 pound, liver and white, 3 year old Shih Tzu girl. I was born on March 13, 2004. I am a retired breeder.
Mom keeps telling me I have the most beautiful brown eyes and cutest little brown nose she has ever seen. Thing is she keeps smooching all over me constantly and I keep telling her I need a break so I can romp and play with the other pupsters. I am enjoying life to the fullest here. I love being outside and watching the world go by. I get along wonderfully with all of the other pupsters. I love to cuddle up close to Mom and Dad at night...I even try to steal their pillows. I would love a home where Mom and Dad could be home with me most of the time, another pupster to play with, a fenced in yard to romp and play in and prefer no small children.
I am working on my house training and do well during grooming.
