Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal! |

Saxon
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on October 7, 2007. My name is Saxon. I was born on November 26, 2002. I am a handsome 5 year old, 12 pound black Shih Tzu boy. I am a retired breeder. I am an energetic, curious, happy little boy. I so enjoy all of the other pupsters here and have a wonderful time romping and playing with all. I sometimes get into just a bit of mischief, but isn't that what life is all about? I love to be cuddled, kissed, held and give soft, feathery kisses. I would surely enjoy a home where I would have a friend to romp and play with. It would be nice if Mom/Dad could be home with me all of the time and a fenced in yard is a must. I prefer no children please. I am working on leash training, potty training and do well during grooming. Please click on Saxon's Video to see me in action! I am neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |

Guy
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on October 25, 2007. My name is Guy. I am 11 years old, weigh 18 pounds and am a very handsome black and white Shih Tzu boy. My owners had me since I was a puppy, children entered their lives and they did not have enough time to spend with me anymore. I am a sweet, gentle soul who only wants someone to cuddle me close and give me lots of love. I enjoy having all of the other pupsters to cuddle with and so enjoy playing with the toys. My favorite time is in the evening when all settles down and I crawl into bed with Mom to cuddle as close as I can get. I am really spry for my age, but I do have a heart murmer. Doc says this happens sometimes when we get a bit older. I am house trained, leashed trained and do well during grooming. I am neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |

Benson
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on October 30, 2007. My name is Benson. I am a handsome, 2 yr. old white Pekingese boy and was born on February 20, 2006. I weigh 16 lbs. I am a retired breeder. I surely enjoy every minute of the day. I love to romp and play with the other pupsters, am obsessed with balls and follow Mom around begging for attention. I just look up at her, give her my famous Benson grin and she turns to mush. Now, I can be a bit over rambunctious at times, but hey, I am just a young pupster feeling my oats you know. I can't wait to find my very own special home where Mom/Dad can be home with me most of the time. I prefer no small children and a fenced in yard is a must. I am working on house training and leash training and do well during grooming. I am neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $350. |

Summer
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on October 30, 2007. My name is Summer. I am a very sweet, 2 year old, 12 pound, blonde Pekingese girl. I was born on March 9, 2006. I am a retired breeder. When I arrived I was very shy and afraid. I am beginning to overcome my fears and know that I am safe and loved. I am a very gentle natured little girl who enjoys the company of all of my pupster friends. I love to be held and cuddled and snuggling up close to Mom at night is the greatest! Mom and Dad say one of my most endearing qualities is how my little tongue sticks out all of the time. My teeth did not form properly and I have an exceptionally long tongue. I am searching for a wonderful home where Mom/Dad will love me forever. I prefer no small children please and a fenced in yard is a must. I am working on my house and leash training and do well during grooming. I am spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $350. |

Max
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on November 8, 2007. My name is Max. I am a very handsome 1 year old brindle and white Shih Tzu boy and weigh 16 pounds. I was born on December 6, 2006. I am with PATR because of biting issues with my prior owners. This was my story: According to my first owner I was not socialized properly with my litter mates and she had two small children who I did not get along with. So I went to my second home. I loved to fetch toys, play tug of war and enjoyed playing catch me if you can with my owners. I wanted to play with other dogs, but didn't really know how and very quickly annoyed them. I did well with the adults, but according to my owner I would aggressively bite the kids and go after their face and hands. Also, I had to be tranquilized when groomed for I would bite the groomer. I was crated and trained with electric fencing. This is my story now: I am a very loving, energetic playful little boy. I am, however, very sensitive around my neck and head area and I believe it is because of the shock collar that was used for training me to stay within the electric fence. Mom and Dad are working with me so that I will understand that nothing or no one will hurt me. When groomed I did make an attempt to bite, but was talked to very gently and firmly and told that this was inappropriate. I then settled down for the grooming. My body still quivers if you touch me too quickly especially around my face. I do have an unusual way of playing with the other pupsters, but by watching am learning what true playtime is all about. I love my Mom and Dad and have made no attempt to bite them. Because of my previous background I will need a home where there are no children, a Mom/Dad that is willing to understand and work with my issues. You see it is not my fault I am the way I am. I have a lot of love to give and would hope that there is someone out here who will take me into their hearts and home. I am working on house training and love to go for walks. Please click on Max's Video to see me in action! I am neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and on Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $450. |

Meggie
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on December 5, 2007. My name is Meggie. I am a sweet 11 year old, 9 pound Maltese girl. I am a retired breeder. I was born on September 17, 1996. I have settled in nicely here with all of the other pupsters. I enjoy cuddling up close to all for our naptimes. I am obsessed with soft squeaky toys and the treats here are yummy! I love to be held and cuddled and Mom and Dad's laps are my favorite place to be. At night there is nothing better than snuggling in close to Mom as we drift off to sleep. I had several mammary tumors that were removed and biopsy results indicated that the tumors are malignant. I will need to be monitored on a weekly basis to check for any additional growths. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 and a fenced in yard would be great. I am working on house training and do well during grooming. I am Spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |
