Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal! |

Fantasia
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 28, 2005. My name is Fantasia. I am a beautiful red/fawn Pekingese girl. I weigh 10 pounds and am 13 years old. I was born on February 22, 1995. I am so very sweet and love to cuddle into your arms and just stay there. Of course there are potty breaks and other necessities in life, but I would skip all that willingly just to be loved. I get along well with all of the other pupsters, but because of my background, toys are something I am getting acquainted with. I would love a home with no small children and someone that has lots of time just to hug and cuddle. I know my special home is out there! I am house trained, leash trained do very well during grooming. I am UTD on shots, Spayed and tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. I am fostering in South Bend, Indiana. We appreciate Kakki and Randy Smith of Michigan, for lovingly sponsoring Fantasia. |

Quigley
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 28, 2005. My name is Quigley. I am a handsome 14 pound, 13 year old red Pekingese boy. I was born on December 14, 1994. I have produced a lot of puppies in my time, but I am now ready to find my special home, settle down and just plain enjoy life. I absolutely love the other pupsters here, all of these toys are really interesting and there are doggie beds everywhere! What an interesting world this is - so many things to investigate and learn. I have figured out that laps are a wonderful place to sit, soft beds feel like heaven to me and oh, those hugs and kisses - that is the favorite part of my day. I am working on housetraining and walk well on a leash. I am a well behaved boy during grooming. I am UTD on shots, Neutered and tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. I am decked out in one of our beautiful Canine Collar Cuffs by Finner Fasion Funwear ™ which are available in our Gift Shop. We appreciate Keith Brown of Georgia for lovingly sponsoring Quigley. |

Brinkley
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on February 5, 2005. My name is Brinkley. I am a 10 pound, black and white Shih Tzu boy. I am 10 years old. I was left at a shelter all alone and here I am romping and playing with all of the pupsters. I am one energized bunny, don't slow down often. I am a bit shy and it takes me time to warm up to strangers. I am still a bit unsure about life and can nip out of fear. Once I get to know you I love to be held and cuddled. I love joining in at playtime with the rest of the pupsters and am first in line for the treats. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me all of the time and I need a fenced in yard. I prefer no small children. I am house trained, am leash trained and do well during grooming. I am also UTD on shots, Neutered and tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. I am decked out in one of our beautiful Canine Collar Cuffs by Finner Fasion Funwear ™ which are available in our Gift Shop. |

Shawnee I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on March 13, 2005. My name is Shawnee. I am a gentle, 14 yr. old handsome 15 pound red sable Pekingese boy. I was born on August 23, 1993. My sister Kerrie and myself lost our Mom and had been together since we were puppies. We were still living in our old house during the 2 months with family coming in to feed us. We were so very lonely and none of the family could take us so PATR welcomed us and we were loved once again. My Sis Kerrie left my side and is romping at the Rainbow Bridge...I surely miss her. I enjoy watching all of the youngsters romping and playing around me and all the pupsters are being very good to me. I am not fond of strangers and will bite if approached too quickly. I would love a home where I can be loved, cuddled and kissed for the rest of my life. I am housetrained, do well during grooming and love to go walking. I am Neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |

Chantilly I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on March 25, 2005. My name is Chantilly. I am a sweet 12 year old Maltese girl. I currently weigh 6 1/2 pounds. I have been a breeder all of my life. When I arrived I had very little coat, just wisps of hair. Look at me now! I have had blood work done and am on thyroid medication. I am blind, both eyes are shrinking a bit due to possibly a bout with glaucoma or some kind or corneal trauma. I had this thing called a dental and have only five teeth left, but this doesn't slow me down on my eating, I just munch away. My mouth feels sooo much better. When I first arrived I was very docile and quiet, but look out now! I am wagging my tail, jumping around for attention and can do twirlies with the best of the pupsters. I love all of the doggy bed houses and crawl in and curl right up. I sure am liking all of this lovin' and cuddlin'. I am working on house training and do well during grooming. I am spayed, UTD on shots and tested HW- and am on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. We appreciate Melissa Ekmark for lovingly sponsoring Chantilly, in memory of Josette. |

Bentley I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on April 1, 2005. My name is Bentley. I am an 11 pound, brindle and white Shih Tzu boy who is packed full of energy. My 11 years do not slow me down a bit. I was left at this horrible place called a shelter. I was so very lonely, but along came my rescue angel. I just love life - give me toys and I will entertain myself forever. I can get a little selfish sometimes with the toys, but Mom is teaching me this is inappropriate behavior. I love to run and play and be loved. The best thing in life are these things called belly rubs - can handle that all day long. And, oh, the soft cushy beds are a dream come true. I have lost the sight in my right eye, but this does not slow me down a bit. I would like a home where there are no small children and one or two other pupster playmates. I am house trained, am leash trained and handle well during grooming. I am looking forward to finding my special home. We appreciate Melissa Ekmark for lovingly sponsoring Bentley, in memory of her spunky Shih Tzu girl, Josette. |

Newman
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on May 19, 2005. My name is Newman. I am a 9 pound, 15 year old Westie Mix. I am white with a bit of cream color on my back and ears. I have long legs for my little body and aren't my ears something else? You know I am getting a bit older, and sometimes change does not come easily. My Mom and Dad decided to have children and I just could not adjust so here I am just waiting for another home where I will be loved and cuddled. I am a sweet, sweet little boy. I love to snuggle up closely in bed with you and laps are my very most favorite place to be. I do well with the other pupsters, but am not very interested in toys. People are definitely the in thing for me! I love to go for car rides, do well on leash and during grooming. I do have potty accidents on occasion, but Mom says that is what belly bands were made for. I am UTD on shots, Neutered and tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. We appreciate Miranda Martin of Michigan for lovingly sponsoring Newman. |

Shaylei
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 16, 2005. My name is Shaylei. I was born on March 27, 1996 so that makes me a young 12 years old. I am an absolutely adorable gold and white 12 pound Shih Tzu girl. My owner loved me dearly, but her life changed unexpectedly and she was unable to keep me and what a better place to be than here until I find my special home. I am a well adjusted, loving little girl. I get along well with all of the other pupsters, love the toys and enjoy the soft beds. I can be a bit of a loner at times and need my space. I would thrive in a home where I would get lots of one on one. I would prefer not to be around any children. I am house trained and do well during grooming. I am Spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. I am fostering in Indiana. We appreciate Jay and Wendy Piatek of Indiana for lovingly sponsoring Shaylei. |

Toto
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on August 16, 2005. My name is Toto. I am an absolutely adorable, 4 year old, 13 pound black and white Cairn Terrier mix. I was found wandering the streets all alone. I ended up in this place called a shelter and no one cared enough to come and pick me up. Actually I am kind of glad because this place is great! I am your typical happy, energetic terrier. Love life, love the toys, love people. I can be just a bit shy at first, but once I know you look out - your lap becomes mine! I have a congenital abnormality in my left eye - the iris is stuck to the lens. Other than that, I am a healthy little boy. I am working on house training and can be a bit nippy during grooming, but am working on that. I will need a home with a fenced yard and no cats please. I also am not fond of children. I am Neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |

Kelsey
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on November 4, 2005. My name is Kelsey. I am a very shy and sweet, 5 year old Pekingese girl. I am a blonde and weigh 12 pounds. My owners just dropped me off at this place called a shelter. I don't know why for I am so very sweet. I love all of the other pupsters here, they are being so very kind to me. I am very shy right at first, but once I know I can trust you I snuggle right into your lap. Mom and Dad say I have the most beautiful brown eyes they have ever seen. I do have this thing called luxating patellas and my back legs are rather weak, but with exercise I know I will improve. I am also on glucosamine to help strengthen my joints. I would really like another pupster friend and a fenced in area is a must. I do well during grooming, enjoy going for walks and am house trained. I am Spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |
