Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal! |

Demi
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on November 4, 2005. My name is Demi. I am a very sweet 9 pound, blonde and white Shih Tzu girl. I am 7 years old. My owners did not keep track of me very well and I ended up lost in this big world, but the rescue angels were there waiting for me. I am a very lovable little girl and give the best kisses ever! I can however, have a bit of an attitude at times so it will take someone who understands my needs and can have lots of patience with me. I really truly have so much love to share with the right Mom and Dad. I do not care for the other pupsters so prefer a home all by myself. I have seen this wonderful gentleman called an ophthamologist, but unfortunately I lost my battle with glaucoma in my left eye and it was necessary that it be removed. I will need to be on eye meds for my right eye for the rest of my life. I would love a home where Mom/Dad can be home with me all of the time. Absolutely no small children. I am house trained, behave during grooming, and do fairly well on leash. I am Spayed, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. We appreciate Blair and Lauren Liikala of Colorado for lovingly sponsoring Demi. |

Macho
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on November 22, 2005. My name is Macho. I am 12 years old, weigh 9 pounds and am a very handsome blonde Pekingese boy with a black mask. I ended up at this place called a shelter and my days were numbered. Want to know the reason why? Because my owners said they were tired of feeding me canned food! Sounds a bit bizarre doesn't it? Well, please continue to read my story. I visited "Doc" immediately when I got here. I had two teeth left that were hanging and had hair wrapped around them. They were immediately removed so I now have no teeth. I have this thing called a symphysis that is broken in my bottom jaw. Basically what this means is that the left and right side of my lower jaw is not hooked together. My lower left and right jaw bones come together at my chin, the bone area is gone due to rotting of my teeth. Now you know why I have to eat soft food! I also have a slight heart murmur, but we are hoping that the shape of my teeth has attributed to this and I am on medication to see if this will improve. Even with all of the above, I am a happy, bouncy, lovable little boy who just enjoys life to the fullest. I love the pupsters, the cushy beds and all of the toys that are here. All I want is for you to cuddle me and stroke me. I am working on house training, do fairly well on leash and do well during grooming. I am UTD on shots, neutered, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. We appreciate Jay and Wendy Piatek of Indiana for lovingly sponsoring Macho. |

Spencer
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on December 1, 2005. My name is Spencer. I am a very handsome parti colored Pekingese boy and weigh 12 pounds. I am a young energetic 11 year old. I was born on May 21, 1996. I have made a lot of puppies in my day, but it is now time for me to settle down and live the life of luxury in my very own Forever Home. My tail is always wagging and when you pick me up I snuggle right in and even give you a special Pekey kiss on occasion. Mom says I have the cutest Pekey smile and laughs when I favor her with my toothy grin. I get along well with all of the other pupsters and love to romp and play. I would love a home with another pupster to keep me company. I would not do well with small children. I am working on house training, am still nervous on leash and handle well during grooming. I am UTD on shots, neutered, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. I am decked out in one of our beautiful Canine Collar Cuffs by Finner Fasion Funwear ™ which are available in our Gift Shop. |

I have been retired from the breeding world and am ready to find my very own special home. I am quite shy, but am learning that this is a wonderful place and I am surrounded by love. Chester
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 10, 2006. My name is Chester. I am 10 years old and weigh 15 pounds. I am a handsome blonde and white Shih Tzu boy. I ended up at a shelter and was very, very frightened for I can not see and I do not hear well. My time was limited, thank goodness my rescue angels arrived. I am a very sweet, lovable little boy. I find my way around the house very well and sometimes play with a few of the pupsters. I can smell out a treat in a minute and even though I do not hear well, I know when that refrigerator door opens. Dr. Ramsey, the opthalmologist, said that I have a corneal facet present in my left eye due to a previous perforation which we are treating with drops. I will not regain vision in this eye, but with the medication it will reduce the facet and my eye will be ok. I have a mature cataract in my right eye. I get 4 different drops each day. On my last visit with Dr. Ramsey, he said that the improvement has been dramatic. I have to be re-evaluated for possible cataract surgery to restore vision in my right eye. I am house trained, do well on leash and enjoy going wherever you go. Please click on Chester's Slide Show to see my story! I am Neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |

Dustin
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on January 20, 2006. My name is Dustin. I am 6 years old and weigh 15 pounds. I am a very handsome gray and white Shih Tzu boy. I was born on July 1, 2001. I am a retired breeder and am really enjoying just laying back and relaxing. Everything around me is so new. I am just observing life right now...watching all of the pupsters play with these things called toys and they appear to really be enjoying it. I know I will be brave one day and join in the fun. I am very, very shy, but am beginning to really like those hugs and kisses that Mom and Dad give me. I also have found these nice soft beds and enjoy cuddling with the rest of the pupsters. Please forgive my pictures, but I am very good at avoiding the camera. Actually, Mom is always trying to sneak up on me and take a picture, but I out run her every time. Boy, it is like having the Paparazzi on your heels, she is relentless! I would like a home where I have a fenced in area to romp and play in. I also would like Mom/Dad to be home with me 24/7. I am working on house training and leash training. I am Neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. |

Sydney
I was welcomed into the rescue and my angel's loving arms on March 4, 2006. My name is Sydney. I am a very handsome 9 pound black Shih Tzu boy and am just packed full of love! I am 9 yrs. old and I was born on September 8, 1998. I am a retired breeder. I will need a very special home for you see I am blind. My retinas are detached and unfortunately I will never be able to see again. This does not slow me down however. Once I know where everything is at I do just as well as the other pupsters with sight. All you need to do is say my name and my tail is wagging and I am ready to give you lots and lots of kisses. I am looking for a home that understands my special needs and loves me for who I am. I love to be cuddled by Mom and Dad and snuggle right in. I do well with the other pupsters, but it would be wonderful if I could find a home where I would be the one and only. Also, my Mom/Dad would need to be home with me 24/7. I am house trained and do well during grooming. Please click on Sydney's Video Clip to see me in action! I am Neutered, UTD on shots, tested HW-, on Heartworm Preventative and Flea Protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption donation is $275. I am decked out in one of our beautiful Canine Collar Cuffs by Finner Fasion Funwear ™ which are available in our Gift Shop.
