Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal! |
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

Slater
I am a very sweet black, 8 yr old, 13 lb Brussels Griffon boy. I was turned over to PATR by a breeder due to ear issues. I was born on February 4, 2004. I am a very sweet little boy who loves everyone I meet. I am a very energetic boy and love to play with all of the toys here. I can be a bit bossy with the other pupsters. I love Mom and Dad and the best time of the day is when they cuddle me close. When I arrived I had ear growths that had begun growing in my inner ear and spilled out of my ears. I could not hear. I went through two surgeries to remove the growths. My son Braden had the same ear issues and has found his Forever Home. I can't wait to meet my Forever Home parents and hope they can be with me 24/7. I would love a fenced in yard to romp and play in. I prefer no children. To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet. I am working on leash training and house training and do well during grooming. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300. We appreciate Katherine Brooks of Indiana for lovingly sponsoring Slater. |
