  • Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

I am a handsome 12 lb, black and white Shih Tzu Poodle Mix. I am approximately 7 yrs old. I was rescued from a very abusive environment.
I am rather nervous when I first meet you, but once I know I am safe I give the best kisses ever and will jump right into your lap for cuddles and kisses. I do fairly well with the other pupsters, but at times can be a bit alpha. I love to play with all of the toys and snuggle in close to Mom and Dad at bedtime. I would love a home where Mom and Dad could be with me most of the time. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
The tooth fairy visited me in May 2011 when I had my dental. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

I weigh 10 lbs and am a beautiful 7 yr old Shih Tzu Yorkie mix girl. I was born on July 1, 2004. My owner turned me over to rescue because she was unable to care for my special needs.
I am a sweet, loving little girl. I love toys and toss them in the air and chase after them. I get along well with the other dogs, but at times can be a bit bossy. I love food and I look forward to treat time. I enjoy car rides and short walks in my cart. My back legs are paralyzed. I could walk at one time. According to my prior owner I was fine when I went to bed one evening, but then woke up unable to walk. Mom and Dad obtained a cart for me and I can now run right along side the rest of the pupsters. I am receiving holistic care which includes acupuncture, chiropractic care and holistic supplements to help me regain muscle tone and to assure that I remain pain free. I have no control over my bladder and bowels. I will need a stay at home Mom/Dad who are willing to work with my health issues. A quiet home with no children would be wonderful. Ongoing holistic care is a must.

We appreciate Jean Iovino of California for lovingly sponsoring Dahlia in memory of her sweet Noela.

I am a handsome, energetic blonde 4 yr old Shih Tzu Mix boy. I weigh 12 lbs I was born on October 25, 2007.
My Mom's husband passed away and she could not afford to keep me. Bet you can't guess how Mom came up with my name? Yep, you are right..I am full of the dickens. I keep telling her that's what us babies are all about! OK, so sometimes I get into a few things I shouldn't. I do love the pupsters here and really enjoy being cuddled and held. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard is a must. Can't wait to meet my Mom and Dad!

I am an 8 lb, 5 yr old, beautiful liver and white Shih Tzu Maltese girl.
I want to thank this very nice lady who saved me from the horrors of the puppy mill and allowed me to share my life with the PATR pupsters until I find my special home. I am a very sweet, loving little girl who just needs lots and lots of cuddles and kisses. I love the other pupsters here, but spend a lot of time observing rather than interacting with them. My most favorite time is at night when I can cuddle close with Mom and Dad. I do have a thyroid condition and am on daily medication. I look forward to finding my special home where Mom/Dad can be home 24/7, a fenced in yard is a must and no small children please.

I am a very cute 3 yr old, 6 lb gold and black Yorkie Chihuahua boy. I was dumped at the shelter by my owner.
I wish I could talk to Mom and Dad and tell them about the first months of my life for I am very shy and frightened. I am afraid of loud noises and quick movements. Mom and Dad say that eventually I will trust. They just treat me with gentleness and kindness, but say it may take awhile before I can fully trust. I get along well with the other pupsters and enjoy interacting with them. I can't wait to find my very own special home where Mom/Dad can be home with me most of the time. I prefer no small children and a fenced in yard is a must.

I am a 12 lb, tri-colored, 6 yr old Shih Tzu Mix boy. I was born on March 7, 2005.
My Mom's husband passed away and she could not afford to keep me. I am a sweet, but shy little boy. I enjoy the other pupsters here, the toys are great and I love the soft beds. I just am not too sure about life right now, but Mom and Dad are working with me on that. Once I am in their arms I realize I am safe and give soft feathery kisses. I would like a home where Mom/Dad are home with me most of the time, a fenced in yard is a must and no small children. I would be contented to be the one and only.

I am a very cute 11 lb, 4 yr old blonde Shih Tzu mix boy. I was born on October 25, 2007.
My Mom's husband passed away and she could not afford to keep me. I am a very loving little boy just packed full of energy. I love to romp and play with the other pupsters here and lap time is one of my passions. Yeh, I get into a bit of trouble here and there, but I am so curious about everything....just can't help myself. I can't wait to find my special home where I will have another pupster to play with, a fenced in yard to romp and play in and a Mom/Dad that will love me forever!

I am an absolutely adorable, 8 yr old, 13 lb black and white Cairn Terrier mix.
I was found wandering the streets all alone. I ended up in this place called a shelter and no one cared enough to come and pick me up. Actually I am kind of glad because this place is great!
I am your typical happy, energetic terrier. Love life, love the toys, love people. I can be just a bit shy at first, but once I know you look out - your lap becomes mine! I have a congenital abnormality in my left eye - the iris is stuck to the lens. Other than that, I am a healthy little boy.

I am working on house training and can be a bit nippy during grooming, but am working on that. I will need a home with a fenced yard and no cats please. I also am not fond of children.
