  • Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

I weigh 12 lbs and am a beautiful blonde and white Pekingese girl. I am 10 yrs old.
I ended up in this place called a shelter when I lost my owner. Boy, was that scary, but I am safe now and loved. I am surely enjoying life here. Soft beds, good food and friends to play with. I love to romp and play with the rest of the pupsters and toys are my passion. I enjoy all of the loving I can get from Mom and Dad. I can be a bit bossy sometimes with the other pupsters, but when Mom and Dad talk to me about it I realize that I need to behave myself. I lost my right eye due to glaucoma and am on daily eye medications for my left eye. I would love a home where I had another pupster to keep me company.
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am house trained, enjoy going whereever Mom and Dad go and do well with grooming.
The tooth fairy visited me in January 2010 when I had my dental. I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. My last bloodwork was done on 1-29-09. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

I am a handsome 6 yr old white Pekingese boy and was born on February 20, 2006. I weigh 16 lbs. I am a retired breeder.
I surely enjoy every minute of the day. I love to romp and play with the other pupsters, am obsessed with balls and follow Mom around begging for attention. I just look up at her, give her my famous Benson grin and she turns to mush. Now, I can be a bit over rambunctious at times, but hey, I am just a young pupster feeling my oats you know. I can't wait to find my very own special home where Mom/Dad can be home with me most of the time. I prefer no small children and a fenced in yard is a must.

I am an 8 lb, 9 yr old blonde Pekingese girl. I was born on September 10, 2002. I am a retired breeder.
When I arrived I was very shy, but it didn't take long for my loving personality to emerge. I love all of the pupsters around me and enjoy cuddling close during naptimes. I am still trying to figure out what all of the toys are about. I love to be held and cuddled. Night time is the best for I get to snuggle in close to Mom and Dad. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time and another pupster to play with would be wonderful. I enjoy exploring outside so would like a fenced in yard. I prefer no children please.

I am a 14 lb, white Pekingese boy. I am 9 yrs old. I am a retired breeder.
Mom says I am the most handsome Pekey boy she has ever seen. I am not too sure of myself at times and we are working on this. I just do not know if I can really trust or not. I do love the other pupsters and playtime is the greatest. Because of my lack of care in the breeding world my right eye was in horrible condition and I was in excruciating pain. Unfortunately the eye could not be saved, but now that I have healed from the surgery I feel so much better. Having one eye does not slow me down a bit. I will need a home with someone who has a lot of patience and can help me as I gradually know that the world around me is full of loving people. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.

I am a beautiful 11 lb, 11 yr old black and white Pekingese girl. I was born on August 31, 2000.
I was turned over to a humane society because I did not get along well with children. I am enjoying being here with all of the pupsters and cuddling up next to them. I am a loving little girl who greets everyone with tail wagging ready to dole out my special kisses. I look forward to bedtime when I can snuggle close to Mom and Dad. I am looking forward to a home where Mom/Dad will be home with me 24/7. I love to romp and play in the yard so a fenced in yard is a must. I cannot be placed with children.

I am a gorgeous 11 lb, 3 yr old fawn Pekingese boy with a black mask. I was born on June 24, 2008.
I was turned over to PATR by a breeder due to kennel down sizing. I am a sweet, lovable little boy that gives the best Pekey kisses ever. I am addicted to belly rubs and love to be in Mom or Dad's lap for lots of cuddles. I love all of the other pupsters here and enjoy all of the toys. Elizabeth

I am a beautiful blonde and white, 14 lb, 8 yr old Pekingese girl.
I was adopted at a shelter in New Jersey by two very loving people. Unfortunately I had not been evaluated properly before being placed and I have some issues. I would bite out of fear. These wonderful people worked with me for 2 1/2 months and just could not figure out how to help me. They contacted PATR and we drove all the way to Michigan so that I could get help. I have been doing great and am a bit more comfortable now and know that no one is going to hurt me. I still am a bit unpredictable, particularly with strangers.
I do have a loving, playful personality and am getting along great with all of the other pupsters. I love the toys and stand on my hind feet and dance around for treats and pets.
When I am adopted I will need a home with no children, someone who has lots of patience and experience with my kind of behavior. I will also need a fenced yard. I am still terrified of a leash and we are working on that.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. I am a beautiful 12 lb, 10 yr old, blonde Pekingese girl. I was dumped at a shelter by my owners and they never even looked back.
I am a very sweet loving little girl. I am always happy and want nothing more than lots and lots of love. I get along wonderfully with all of the other pupsters here. I do not have a lot of interest in toys, but sure have a lot of interest in cuddles and smooches. I am being treated for dry eye and will need daily eye drops for the remainder of my life. I just know there is a special home waiting for me where I will be lavished with love. I enjoy being outside so a fenced in yard is a must. I prefer no children please.

I am a beautiful brown, black and cream Pekingese girl weighing 13 lbs. I am 9 yrs old.
I was turned into a shelter to be euthanized because I am blind. These wonderful people saved me from death and I am so happy to be here. My right eye is surgically sewn shut and my left eye has been severely traumatized. I did visit an eye specialist, but unfortunately nothing can be done, but I am, however, a very happy, pekey girl and nothing can get me down! I am a sweet, loving little girl, just want to be held and cuddled. I always have my tail up and a smile on my face.
I am getting along great with the other pupsters. Although I am blind, I get around the house and play yard very well. I particularly like my Mom and as long as I can find her scent I am fine. I jump up on her legs to let her know I really need to be picked up and cuddled.
Because of my health concerns, my diet is extremely important.
I do fairly well during grooming, walk well on a leash. I am housetrained and let my foster Mom know when I need to go outside to potty.

I am a handsome blonde and white, 9 yr old, 15 lb Pekingese boy.
I was found as a stray and spent 10 days in this very lonely place before my rescue angel arrived. I am a very sweet, lovable little boy that asks nothing more than a soft lap to lay in, belly rubs and lots of kisses. I do fairly well with all of the other pupsters, but can be a bit alpha at times. I love the soft cushy beds and all of the toys. I enjoy riding in the car, am house trained and do very well on leash. I would love a home with no small children and a fenced in area where I can romp and play.

I am a beautiful parti red/sable/white Pekingese girl. I weigh 12 lbs and I am 11 yrs old.
I am a retired breeder. Life is definitely looking up for me. I have not lived a very pleasant life, but now I am surrounded by love. Lots of toys, cushy beds, a large play area, total freedom and most of all lots of hugs and kisses. I may be 8 years old, but I feel like I am 2 again. I kick up my heels and play, play, play. I can be a bit shy at times, but once I get to know you I am a little lovebug. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time. I am a happy, lovable little girl who gives the best Pekey kisses ever. My favorite spot is in Mom or Dad's lap. If I had my choice that would be my permanent place to be at all times. I enjoy playing with toys and snuggling in soft beds. Mom says I have the happiest tail ever. I love to talk to Mom and Dad and definitely let them know when I am in need of attention. I am a handsome 9 yr old tri-colored Pekingese boy. I weigh 16 lbs.
I have a beautiful soft long coat and my tail is always wagging. I have only one eye (nobody knows how this happened since I came from a shelter and there was no information on me.) I am very aggressive with larger dogs so Foster Mom and Dad feel possibly I was in a fight with a larger dog and lost my eye as a result. I would love to be an only dog. I am fine with cats and usually ignore them. I am a cuddle bug and love to play couch potato with my foster Mom & Dad. I will, however bite if I feel threatened.

I am a very playful, energetic 9 yr old Pekingese girl. I was born on September 10, 2002 and weigh 8 lbs. I am a beautiful sable girl with a black mask.
I am enjoying my retirement from the breeding world and all the pupsters definitely know that I have arrived! I am one busy little girl, full of energy and lots of love. I am a bit nervous when I do not know you, but once I am comfortable I will win your heart over. I can be a bit sassy at times, but Mom says she loves my Pekey attitude. I get along well with the other pupsters, but can be a bit "alpha" so need a home all to myself or with a pupster that will accept me as being the boss. I do have bilatteral luxating patellas and am on medication. It would be great if my special Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 and a fenced in yard is a must.

I am a very sweet 7 lb, 2 yr old albino Pekingese girl. My sister and brothers Winona, Judd and Twain and I were turned over to PATR because we could barely walk due to lack of bone mass. With water therapy, specialized physical therapy and holistic supplements I am doing great and ready for my special home. I was born on August 26, 2009.
I am just one happy little girl. I love to run and play, pull at shoestrings, chew on everything but my toys(isn't that what I am supposed to do?) and am inquisitive about everything. I just wiggle and wiggle for love and kisses. This is the life! I am looking forward to meeting my Mom and Dad. A fenced in yard is a must and no small children please.

Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do fairly well during grooming.
The tooth fairy visited me in February 2011 when I had my dental. I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on Interceptor for monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.
We appreciate Jean Iovino of California for lovingly sponsoring Sherman in memory of her sweet Noela.

I am one handsome Pekingese boy weighing in at 13 lbs, am 12 yrs old with a red/ sable coat and striking black mask.
I have known nothing but breeding. I have been told that I was living in a puppy mill, but I am one of the fortunate ones, along with 5 others that have escaped that terrible place. Shilo means peace and abundance - what a great name - I feel so peaceful now and there is an abundance of love surrounding me.
I love all of the toys and plush beds. The highlight of my day is romping and playing with some of the other Pekey boys! I am very nervous around strangers and do not think twice about biting. I would love to have a home of my own so I get lots of belly rubs and cuddles.
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. I am still marking in the house at times and do fairly well on leash and behave myself during grooming.

I am a very handsome parti colored Pekingese boy and weigh 12 lbs. I am a young energetic 15 yr old. I was born on May 21, 1996.
I have made a lot of puppies in my day, but it is now time for me to settle down and live the life of luxury in my very own Forever Home.
My tail is always wagging and when you pick me up I snuggle right in and even give you a special Pekey kiss on occasion. Mom says I have the cutest Pekey smile and laughs when I favor her with my toothy grin. I get along well with all of the other pupsters and love to romp and play. I would love a home with another pupster to keep me company. I would not do well with small children.

I am a beautiful 5 yr old sable Pekingese girl with a black mask. I weigh 12 lbs. I was dumped at a shelter .
I am full of boundless energy and surely love my lap time. I do fairly well with the other pupsters, but am an alpha girl. I love to be cuddled and held close and give wonderful soft Pekey kisses. I would enjoy a home with a fenced in yard, would like to be the one and only and no children please.
