    "Money cannot buy you happiness",
have never paid an adoption fee.

    Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

    Brenna

I am a very sweet 5 yr old red and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9 lbs and was born on February 4, 2012. I am a retired breeder.
I am absolutely adorable and just love to be loved. I am packed full of energy and love to romp and play with the rest of the pupsters. At night I just love to cuddle close to Mom and Dad..their pillows are my favorite place. I do have weepy eyes so need daily eye cleaning and drops. I was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Systolic Heart Murmur in March of 2017. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and I will need a fenced in yard. No children please.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and leash training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm prevention and natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

I am a beautiful 9 yr old Champagne Liver Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 12 lbs and was born on March 7, 2008. I am a retired breeder.
I am a very loving little girl. Hold me in your lap, give me lots of love and I am yours forever. I love playing with all of the other pupsters and enjoy playing with all of the toys. Mom just loves my little liver lips and is always smooching me. I do have dry eye and need daily eye drops. A home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 would be great. I prefer a home with no children.

Can you even handle just how adorable my face is?? I know I can barely stand it myself! I'm a sweet and spunky pupster and I LOVE to play! I'm an active girl so please make sure you can keep up with me! Maybe we could be hiking or running buddies?! I'm super people oriented and I adore getting attention so I hope you don't mind sharing some of your space like on the couch or in bed! I'm still a young pupster so make sure you are ready to help me learn my doggy skills. I love the other pupsters here so a brother or sister to play with would be great. I do need a fenced in yard to romp and play in and prefer no small children.

I am a very sweet, lovable little girl who wants nothing more than lots of cuddles and kisses. I love to cuddle up close to Mom and Dad when it is time to go to bed. I get along great with the other pupsters, but rather observe than take part in playing. I am sight impaired. I am looking forward to having my very own Mom and Dad. I will need a fenced in yard and I prefer a home with no children.

Curtsey here! Have you been looking for a gorgeous lady to join your family?? Well, here I am and I cannot wait to meet you. I am a beautiful black & silver, 12 lb, 5 yr old Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder and was born on April 30, 2012.
I am a very active little girl. Mom has nicknamed me "Curious Curtsey". I love to investigate everything. So far I have discovered how to open cupboards and figured out how to take the water bottle stands apart. I will need lots of supervision and activities such as walks and playtime to use up my excess energy. I am shy when meeting strangers, but once I get to know you I am a little love bug. I would love another pupster sister or brother to play with. I will not be a good fit in a home with children. A fenced in yard is a must.

    Kia

I am a very cute 12 yr old brindle and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 11 lbs and was born on July 5, 2005.
My owner sent me to join the PATR pupsters because she was not home with me enough. I am a sweet little girl once I get to know you. I am very nervous around strangers and will nip if someone reaches for me too quickly. I love the other pupsters here and can keep up with the best of them during playtime. Toys are the greatest, naps are enjoyed thoroughly on a nice soft bed and running and playing outside is way too much fun. I enjoy being in Mom and Dad's arms, but there are times where I prefer to be by myself and just contemplate what is going on around me. I am very fearful when I see the vet so care has to be taken. I would love a home with a fenced in yard where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7. I prefer no children please.

I am a beautiful 12 lb, 6 yr old, red and white Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder and was born on July 1, 2011. Get a load of this face, I bet you just can't resist! I'm a total sweetie ready to find a family who understands how wonderful I am. I suffer from vestibular disease (head tilting).
Please click on Leeah's Video Clip to see me in action!
I'm fun and playful, I can be easily overwhelmed at times, so I'm searching for a home without small children where I can go at my own pace. I am a sensitive girl, but I respond great to praise and definitely want to please. Interacting with me using toys is one of my favorite things since it builds confidence, allows me to have fun, and lets me bond with you. Can I snuggle with you on the couch? I sure hope so because I definitely love to be on the furniture with my humans. I would love to have another pupster brother or sister to romp and play with for I love, love, love to do the Shih Tzu Blitz with my pupster friends here. I will definitely need a secured fenced in area with lots of room to run to my heart's content.

I am 13 yrs old, weigh 12 lbs and am a beautiful white and cream Shih Tzu girl. I was born on January 26, 2004.
My prior owners had me for a short time and realized that I had issues that they felt they could not work through so I came to PATR to go through the Pupster Rehabilitation Program. I have so much love to give and at times am very, very loving. But, I really am not sure of myself and have a lot of fears. Mom and Dad are working with me on this. I can be dog and people aggressive. I also suffer from separation anxiety...I need to have Mom or Dad in my sight at all times. I have been diagnosed with a heart murmer and am on medication. I also have limited sight in my right eye and need daily eye drops. I know there is a wonderful home out here for me where Mom/Dad will continue working with me on my problems. I would love a fenced in yard and cannot be placed with children.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. Thank you for visiting me..I knew you could not resist my adorable face. It may take me a bit to get comfortable in my new home. I am flourishing here and my personality and energy are coming into full bloom. I am such a sweet little girl and love being around people so brace yourself for some love! I love to race and play with all of the pupsters and you should see me do the Shih Tzu Blitz! Toys are one of my passions. I am packed full of energy and on the go most of my day. Mei-Ling

I am a very pretty 13 yr old black and white Shih Tzu girl and weigh 12 lbs.
My prior owners were very abusive. They thought nothing of kicking and hitting me with their fists. Thank goodness this wonderful lady from the humane society stepped in, saved me and asked PATR to welcome me into their loving environment. I had a very large kidney stone removed and am on a raw diet and supplements which will need to be continued when I am adopted with frequent checkups from the vet. I am a very needy little girl who wants as much laptime as possible. The other pupsters are OK, but I just sit back and watch them play. I would prefer to be the one and only. I love my Mom, but am more drawn to my Dad. I enjoy walks, car rides and going whereever Mom and Dad go. After all I have been through, it would be wonderful to find a nice quiet home with no small children, no other pets and a Mom/Dad that could be home with me 24/7.

Are you ready to go on a whimsical life journey with me? I'm a sweet little girl looking for a lovely family to spend the rest of my life with. I'm fun and energetic so please make sure you are able to keep up with my active lifestyle. I am also a sensitive soul so always use positive reinforcement and praise with me. I am still a bit unsure of myself when meeting those I do not know. I am hoping you have lots of love to help me get past my shyness. Vangie is the name and being just adorably sweet is my game! I am a very cute 3 yr old, 10 lb liver and white Shih Tzu girl and am a retired breeder. I was born on April 14, 2014.
I know I will stay with you for the rest of my life. If you have another doggy friend at home I will be better paired with another easy going dog like myself! I take a little bit of time to get comfortable but once I do I LOVE snuggling in close and getting lots of attention! Please make sure to always use positive reinforcement and praise and make sure you leave some room for me to squeeze in on the couch and bed with you! I'm a sweet little girl and I know I'm going to make a great companion for your family. Due blue genes in my background my coat is thin and I have very little hair on my ears. Just makes me more adorable don't you think? Take a look at my beautiful eyes!! I'm not going to be a good fit for a family with young children. I just really prefer the conversation of adults! I will need a fenced in yard to romp and play in and if Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time that would be great.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm prevention and natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.
We appreciate Jean Iovino of California for lovingly sponsoring Vangie.

    Zandy

Zandy here...aren't I just too cute? I am an adorable, 8 lb red and white Shih Tzu girl and am a retired breeder. I was born on February 26, 2014.
I am searching for a home where I will be loved forever. I am very sweet and love to be held and cuddled. I am always smiling as you can see in my pictures and am always so happy with tail wagging. I do well with the other pupsters and love to play. Laptime is a must for me and I would love to share your pillow and bed with you. Sometimes I can be a bit bossy with the other pupsters so will need a non alpha playmate or I would also thrive being the one and only. I am hoping to find a home where Mom and Dad could be home with me most of the time. I will need a fenced in yard and prefer no small children.
