    Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

    Arianne

I am a beautiful dark red and white 9 yr old Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 12 lbs and was born on June 20, 2010. I am a retired breeder.
I was a bit shy when I arrived, but am doing much better now. I love all of the other pupsters and it is so much fun to have sisters and brothers to play with. I am definitely enjoying all of the soft beds and toys. I love to be held and cuddled and am ready to share your bed with you. I would do well with another pupster, but would also be contented to be the one and only. I would like a nice fenced in yard and prefer no children.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations and on a monthly heartworm prevention and natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.00
We appreciate Nita Andrews of Florida for lovingly sponsoring Arianne.

I am a very sweet 7 yr old red and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9 lbs and was born on February 4, 2012. I am a retired breeder.
I am absolutely adorable and just love to be loved. I am packed full of energy and love to romp and play with the rest of the pupsters. At night I just love to cuddle close to Mom and Dad..their pillows are my favorite place. I do have weepy eyes so need daily eye cleaning and drops. I was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Systolic Heart Murmur in March of 2017. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and I will need a fenced in yard. No children please.

    Curtsey

Curtsey here! Have you been looking for a gorgeous lady to join your family?? Well, here I am and I cannot wait to meet you. I am a beautiful black & silver, 12 lb, 7 yr old Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder and was born on April 30, 2012.
I am a very active little girl. Mom has nicknamed me "Curious Curtsey". I love to investigate everything. So far I have discovered how to open cupboards and figured out how to take the water bottle stands apart. I will need lots of supervision and activities such as walks and playtime to use up my excess energy. I am shy when meeting strangers, but once I get to know you I am a little love bug. I would love another pupster sister or brother to play with. I will not be a good fit in a home with children. A fenced in yard is a must.
My diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am a beautiful silver 10 lb, 12 yr old Shih Tzu girl. I was born on March 11, 2007. My Mom had to go into assisted living and the family could not care for me so here I am with PATR.
I am a very sweet, lovable little girl who wants nothing more than lots of cuddles and kisses. I love to cuddle up close to Mom and Dad when it is time to go to bed. I get along great with the other pupsters, but rather observe than take part in playing. I am sight impaired and hearing impaired. I am looking forward to having my very own Mom and Dad. I will need a fenced in yard and I prefer a home with no children.

I am an adorable 8 year old, chocolate and white, 12 lb Shih Tzu girl. I was born on June 29, 2011. I am a retired breeder. I am sight impaired and require eye drops twice a day.
I am a loving little girl who will crawl into your lap for my cuddles and kisses. I enjoy playing with the toys, snoozing in the beds and romping and playing outside. I love the other pupsters here and love to romp and play with them. I am an amazing little girl and my blindness does not slow me down a bit. I have lots and lots of love to give my new Mom and Dad. Please give me a home where I will be loved forever with a fenced in yard to romp in and a Mom/Dad that can be home with me 24/7. No children please.

I am a beautiful 12 lb, 8 yr old, red and white Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder and was born on July 1, 2011. Get a load of this face, I bet you just can't resist! I'm a total sweetie ready to find a family who understands how wonderful I am. I suffer from vestibular disease (head tilting).
Please click on Leeah's Video Clip to see me in action!
I'm fun and playful, I can be easily overwhelmed at times, so I'm searching for a home without small children where I can go at my own pace. I am a sensitive girl, but I respond great to praise and definitely want to please. Interacting with me using toys is one of my favorite things since it builds confidence, allows me to have fun, and lets me bond with you. Can I snuggle with you on the couch? I sure hope so because I definitely love to be on the furniture with my humans. I would love to have another pupster brother or sister to romp and play with for I love, love, love to do the Shih Tzu Blitz with my pupster friends here. I will definitely need a secured fenced in area with lots of room to run to my heart's content.

I am 15 yrs old, weigh 12 lbs and am a beautiful white and cream Shih Tzu girl. I was born on January 26, 2004.
My prior owners had me for a short time and realized that I had issues that they felt they could not work through so I came to PATR to go through the Pupster Rehabilitation Program. I have so much love to give and at times am very, very loving. But, I really am not sure of myself and have a lot of fears. Mom and Dad are working with me on this. I can be dog and people aggressive. I also suffer from separation anxiety...I need to have Mom or Dad in my sight at all times. I have been diagnosed with a heart murmer and am on medication. I also have limited sight in my right eye and need daily eye drops. I know there is a wonderful home out here for me where Mom/Dad will continue working with me on my problems. I would love a fenced in yard and cannot be placed with children.

I am a beautiful 8 yr old black Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9 lbs and was born on October 6, 2009. I am a retired breeder. I was turned over to rescue because I had a cherry eye. Surgery was successful. I do have an issue with my coordination and will walk sideways. When I run my little butt is over to the side. I also have an eating disorder so need lots of special care. I am blind in my left eye and need daily drops in my right eye.
I am a sweet, lovable, little girl, but am very shy. I love to be held and cuddled once I am comfortable with you. I do not socialize much with the other dogs, but prefer to have my own bed and just observe. I look forward to bedtime so I can cuddle close to Mom and Dad. A fenced in yard is a must and no small children please.

I am a very sweet 12 yr old, 8 lb Blonde & White Shih Tzu girl.
My Mom got very sick and could no longer care for me. I am a quiet little girl and get along fine with the other pupsters, but would rather observe than take part in their romping and playing. I am a loner and prefer not to be held much. I am just contented cuddling in my own bed and watching the world go by. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.

I am a beautiful 9 yr old black and white, 10 lb Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder. I was born on July 5, 2010.
Aren't I just the cutest little Shih Tzu girl you have ever seen? I am just a little doll baby and love to play with all of the other pupsters. I am very nervous when meeting strangers. Even though I love my Mom and Dad here, I still play catch me if you can. I am very independent and sometimes I like to be in your lap and other times I prefer to occupy myself. I do get in a bit of trouble on occasion, but I just cannot help myself. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time. A fenced in yard is a must and no small children please.
