How You Can Help. We rescue dogs from local animal shelters, animal control facilities and private owners. All are fostered in our homes until they find their Forever Home. All vetting needs are addressed upon arrival with the appropriate follow up vet visits. We also provide a Pre Adoption Physical which is done within a 7 day period prior to adoption. This physical includes a wellness exam and fecal. A copy of the Pre Adoption Physical with our veterinarian's signature will be supplied to the adopter. We will keep an update of total vetting costs at Foster Vetting Costs. We do adopt out of state, but request that the Adopter fly in or drive in to get the baby. Super Bowl Belly Band Contest Please Vote for Your Favorite Contestant  We thought we would have our own Super Bowl and invite all of our prior customers to participate by sending us a picture of their pupster modeling a Peke A Tzu Rescue belly band. The belly bands being modeled can be any of our fabrics for we think all of the pupsters look "Super" no matter what fabric they have chosen. All proceeds of this contest will be applied to our fabric fund so that we can continue to provide quality belly bands to our Peke A Tzu Rescue Pupster Patrons. Contest Rules All Contestant Entries are free. You are welcome to submit as many Belly Band Photos as you would like. The Photo Contest begins on Monday, January 23, 2012 and ends at midnight EST Saturday, February 4, 2012. We will accept photo entries up to midnight EST Friday, February 3, 2012 Please email contestant photos to Jan at info@pekeatzurescue.com. Be sure to include your pupster's first and last name. (Photos need to be at least 400 pixels wide.) If you have previously sent us a photo of your pupster wearing his belly band and prefer to use that photo please let us know. We will update the votes daily for each Contestant so you can see if your favorite Contestant is in the lead. Each vote will cost $1 and can be paid via paypal. All donations (votes) are tax deductible. Contest Prizes At the end of the contest, the 3 winning contestants with the largest number of votes (donations) will win the following: You are more than welcome to apply your winnings to other items in our Gift Shop. Hey, pupster friends. We know some of you aren't overly excited with your new wardrobe so we thought we would offer something especially for you. When your Mom or Dad sends us your picture for the contest ask them to send your guess for the final score for the Super Bowl Game. For Example New York Giants 21..New England Patriots 14. The pupster's guess that is the closest to the total of both teams final score will win two of our squeaker and ball bones plus three flannel pull toys that our volunteer makes for us. We pupsters here love them!  We pupsters are really excited about this contest knowing that our Pupster Patron Friends will be "lifting" in style! |
FROM ROWDY  I would like to thank all of you for helping me. I am feeling much better and actually I think I look pretty cool. I thought an eye patch might be a nice touch, what do all of you think? Yours Truly, Rowdy  Rowdy is an adorable 8 week old, 3 lb Shih Tzu Pug mix who was facing euthanization because his breeder could not afford the necessary care for his left eye. Rowdy has visited our ophthamologist and was put on three eye medications in an attempt to save his eye.  Unfortunately the eye medications are not working and it is now necessary to remove his eye. Heart issues can develop without proper dental care in addition to gum disease and abscesses. We pupsters are asking for your help. For a donation of $70.00 we can each get our dental completed. Designer Accessories and Jewelry Fundraiser   Authentic designer items, beautiful gold and diamond jewelry, precious stone jewelry and watches have been generously donated to Peke A Tzu Rescue to raise funds for vetting expenses for our senior and special needs fosters. 100% of the proceeds goes directly to the Pupsters' Food and Vetting expenses. Annually the pupsters have their heartworm tests and are scheduled for dentals. The cost for this care including heartworm preventative exceeds $20,000 annually. In addition many critically ill and senior fosters have gone to Rainbow Bridge and were unable to be adopted into a loving family of their own. We are left with huge vet expenses from these precious babies and our financial resources have been depleted. With the current economy, some of our previous donors have chosen to discontinue donations. All designer items and jewelry have been authenticated by the donor.
