Greeley's Forever Home Update

April 5, 2015
Hi there,
I just wanted to send you a picture of Greeley. He turns two years old today! He is a very happy boy that can still destroy a dog toy in no time flat! He gets along great with his brothers and adores our son Gabe.

Hi Jan,
I just wanted to send you an update. Greeley is doing great. He has settled right in. He and Mac are partners on crime, when it gets quiet I have to go see what those Two are up to! Monday they decided to work together to dig a hole to china! Not in a place near the fence or anything , just out in the yard having a ball digging away. They did that in their exercise pen when we were camping too. They all get along great and have a great time chasing each other all over the yard and house, tumbling, wrestling, an such. Greeley had a check up from our vet and got his vaccinations he needed according to the paperwork you gave me. All the boys went to the groomers yesterday. They all look so handsome! Here are a couple pictures of Greeley I took yesterday.

Hi Jan,
We are at my Mom's house. It was an uneventful trip home, Greeley was quiet and content in the kennel. He has raced all over the yard with Mac and Oakley, done his number 1 and 2 business and eaten his dinner just fine. I will send some pictures tomorrow. I am having dinner with my mom and then going to my home. My husband and son are so excited for me to get home with him, they have called 3 times already!

Hi Jan,
Here are some pictures I took today. He is doing great but not really sure about the steps off the deck to the yard! He does fine going down but needs encouragement to come back up!

Hi Jan,
Greeley is getting along great with Mac and Oakley. He and Mac chase each other all over the yard several times a day until they are so worn out their tongues are practically touching the floor! He is doing great with my son as well. He is still very fearful of my husband. We have been having him feed him when he is home, and he gives him lots of treats. He is getting better but progress is very slow. He lets him pet him if I am there with him, but if I am out of his sight he generally won't let my husband with in reach of him. He seems extremely fearful of all men, we realized this when we went camping with him. He did great in the trailer though. He will not let my husband take him for a walk without me. He is doing awesome on a leash and loves going for walks, but either me or my mom or my son have to take him, he panics if its my husband, even if he is with the other two dogs. Did you experience this with him? It seems to me that he may have seen some abuse at the hands of a man. He is doing well going pee outside as long as I escort him ever hour or two. He is still having pee accidents in the house on occasion, so he has not completely figured out to go out on his own through the dog door when he needs to go. I am sure it wont take to long for him to figure it out. He has become very attached to me and I call him my shadow, generally he is never far from me unless he and Mac are romping in the yard. He is getting more curious about things and a bit more independent, checking stuff out now. It does make my husband sad that he is so scared of him because he sees how sweet he is with me and Gabe, and my mom too. He is laying on the floor and talking to him and giving him lots of positive praise and treats. In the trailer Greeley will walk all over him if he thinks he is asleep, but if he talks to him he comes running to me. He will lay next to my husband if I am there on the other side of him. Today when my husband came home from work he finally greeted him happily and did not run from him. I know he will come around eventually, it is just going to take time for him to realize he can trust my husband.

Hi,
Greeley is doing really well. He is totally house trained now. No accidents in many days, probably over a week now. He is so happy and sweet. I nick named him thumper because he thumps his tail whenever you talk to him or when you get home and he is so happy to you. He loves my son Gabe. Gabe has been away during the day at drama camp this week, and Greeley is all over him when he gets home from camp. He is kissing him, and doing his high pitch yipping sound he does when he is excited. It's very cute.
