Forever Home Update November 16, 2017 Hi Jan, She just devoured an entire bag of your food and drank water :) I did as you suggested and put it on a saucer. Still waiting for a successful potty trip. :) Good night. Will send photos once my phone cooperates. Best, Carolyne November 17, 2017 Hi Jan, Pictures Kevin on her first night with us. He waited up to meet her. In her bed yesterday morning, just waking up. This is our new baby this morning. All the Yorkies like the same spot on the couch. Do her eyes look less sad? She’s not in love with the camera yet but she’s learning. She greets Kevin every time he enters the room or the house! She gets up on all fours to see and face him. It’s the only time she gets up!!! I’m happy if she raises her head occasionally and opens her eyes to look at me! I believe she’s settling in beautifully. She ate 1 1/4 servings of her food this morning on a saucer. She went potty on our kitchen floor last night and this morning. She needs to learn to go on the pads. She is totally clueless when we take her out. She doesn’t walk on a leash yet. She doesn’t know what to do. She just sits down or stands still. No kisses for us yet. Does she know how? She met her cousin, Riley, yesterday and it went very well. He loves her and she accepts him as a new friend. She will warm up more over time. Tell me her history with cardboard boxes on the floor or in the crates. She had a significant and severe traumatic reaction yesterday!! My daughter’s apartment is being renovated and her kitchen floor had cardboard taped down to protect her new tile floor. Would not eat the remaining of her raw food this morning. Is it because it’s 3 days? I bought more raw dog good. The chicken is defrosting. Potty is going well. She regularly goes on her pads. Purchased more pads this morning. She licked my hand this morning after I rubbed her neck. She loves having her neck rubbed. I’m still waiting for kisses. :) She doesn’t appear to have many teeth. I can’t get a good look in her mouth. Do you have any idea how many teeth she has. It seems she’s missing many back and front teeth . I will make an appointment for her with a dentist. Best, Carolyne November 19, 2017 Hi Jan, The kisses for Kevin were real. She loves him. She barked and greeted him today when he came in. It is a soft bark. She growled at his paper shopping bags. She does have a voice!! Had her to the vet. They said she’s very healthy. They also recommend we see a dentist in the new year, once she’s settled in. She doesn’t have teeth on the top in the back so it’s very difficult for her to chew. The bottom teeth are there but very small and may need additional extractions. They gave her some diet prescription canned dog food in the back and she apparently devoured it. I haven’t been over feeding her. I opened the third bag this morning. Yesterday, I had to throw some out because she didn’t eat it. She just left it. She wagged her tail tonight! Just for a moment. Best, Carolyne November 20, 2017 Hi Jan, Thank you for that info on the raw food diet. I forgot to tell you she just weighed 5 lbs. yesterday. The staff person on Friday must have weighed her with her sweater and leash. She has settled in quite nicely. She has become my shadow. Follows me everywhere. She welcomes Kevin when he comes in with her bark. (I think it’s getting stronger). She loves being petted and rubbed. We went out to dinner with friends. When we returned she greeted us with a wagging tail! Progress! We love her! She’s a joy to have around. Best, Carolyne November 21, 2017 More progress-Kevin came into the kitchen from another room. Anette was on the couch with me in the family room. She stood up on her hind legs and greeted him with sweet, soft barks. He spoke back to her saying hello and other greetings and she pointed her head to the ceiling and howled. It was soft and musical. Lauren, my daughter, looked it up on the internet. That’s a dog’s way of conversing. Did you know she could howl!!! She looked just like a picture you see of a wolf howling!!:) So sweet! Each day we learn more about her as her personality comes through. She misses her Auntie Jan and sends hugs and kisses. I tasted cooked turkey and loved it! Thank you for finding my forever Mom and Dad. They love me lots and I love them too! I will always love you for saving my life. The photos are amazing!! How do you manage to have them all look like dog models? Love the Yorkies too - the one on the right looks a little like Lillie. I love her so much! Lillie is doing very well. Still barking and growling at Kevin. I previously promised to send you some supplies - q-tips and ??? What was the second item? Sorry. Will do as promised.
