    "Money cannot buy you happiness",
have never paid an adoption fee.

    Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

I am a way too cute, 6 yr old, 8 lb blue and gold Yorkie girl. I was born on April 29, 2014. My breeder passed away unexpectedly and she left a note in her kennel requesting that I join the PATR pupsters.
I am a very, very sweet little girl. I love lots of attention and Mom's lap is my favorite place to be although I still take a bit of coaxing and soft words. I am very shy when meeting strangers and it takes me awhile to show my outgoing personality. I love the other pupsters here and playtime is the best. Hope you are ready to share your bed and your couch with me! I promise I will love you forever and hope you will take me into your heart and home. I would love to have another pupster to play with, but would also be OK being the one and only. I will need a fenced in yard to romp and play in. I prefer no small children.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on my house training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm preventative and a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

I am a very handsome 14 lb, 14 yr old black and white Shih Tzu boy. I was born April 2, 2005.
My brother Romy and I lost our Dad and there was no one in the family who could care for us.
It took awhile for me to get over my loss, but I have settled in nicely and know how much I am loved. I get along well with the other pupsters fairly well, but can be a bit alpha. I am not much of a player and just enjoy observing the happenings around me. There are times where I can be a bit nippy, but we are working on that. I do have dry eye and am on eye meds twice a day. It would be nice to have a home where someone is with me 24/7. I prefer no small children.

I am a very sweet 12 lb Shih Tzu boy. I am approximately 17 yrs old.
I was found as a stray matted to the skin with ear and eye infections.
I spent some scary time in this place called a shelter for no one wanted me and along came my rescue angels. I am blind. I had to have my right eye removed and my left eye is genetically deformed. I am just the sweetest little boy. Hugs and kisses are welcomed and I am in heaven when being held in Mom or Dad's arms. I can be a bit grumpy with the other dogs, but have been told "We don't do that here", and I am beginning to understand that this behavior is not appropriate. I would love a home where Mom and Dad can be with me 24/7. I prefer no small children.

I am 13 yrs old, weigh 6 lbs and am a beautiful gold and blue Yorkie girl. I am a retired breeder.
I will need a very special home for you see I am blind. I have adult cataracts in both eyes. This does not slow me down however. Once I know where everything is at I do just as well as the other pupsters with sight. I discovered this thing called a doggy door and have fun going in and out. All you need to do is say my name and my tail is wagging and I am ready to give you lots and lots of love. I am looking for a home that understands my special needs and loves me for who I am. I love to be cuddled by Mom and Dad and snuggle right in and give the best kisses. I do well with the other pupsters and would love another pupster to snuggle with. Also, my Mom/Dad would need to be home with me 24/7. I prefer no children.

I am a sweet Australian Terrier weighing in at 18 lbs and am approximately 8 yrs old. My pupster friend Malcolm, also an Australian Terrier and I were found as strays. The humane society placed us in three different homes, but the placement was unsuccessful due to behavioral issues.
I am a very, very nervous little boy. Loud noises frighten me, anything in someone's hand makes me bolt and if approached too quickly I run like the wind. I am a gentle little boy and have shown no form of aggression with the exception of when I was groomed. Having my face groomed frightened me and I attempted to bite. I get along fine with the other pupsters although I have made no attempt to take part in playtime. I need a home where I can be worked with and continue towards healing. Patience and love will be the key. I wish I could tell you what happened to me to make me so fearful. I will need a quiet household. Please consider giving me a loving home. A fenced in yard is a must and I prefer no small children.

I am a very sweet, 15 yr old, 13 lb white Bichon Poodle Mix. My birthday is May 18, 2005.
My owner became very ill and was unable to continue to care for me.
I am an active very playful little girl. I love to be loved and really enjoy belly rubs. I get along great with the other pupsters and enjoy romping and playing with them. Just give me a toy and I think I am in heaven. I did have surgery for mammary tumors and test results indicate a Grade 2. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard to enjoy. I prefer no small children.

I am a very sweet, approximately 15 year old black Shih Tzu boy. My owner passed away and none of her family had room for me so PATR welcomed me with open arms..
I am such a sweet tempered lovable little boy. I just need someone to hold me close and give me lots of love. I do well with the other pupsters and enjoy cuddling with them. I am sight and hearing impaired. Also when I had my dental I lost all of my teeth, but that doesn't slow me down from eating!! I would love a fenced in yard and prefer no small children.

I am a very cute gray and white Shih Tzu Poodle boy. I weigh 11 lbs and am approximately 12 yrs old. I was turned over to PATR due to a biting history within the past five years. I was facing euthanization.
I am a very sweet little boy and love to be loved. I am an independent little guy and wish everything could go exactly the way I want, but I am learning that pupster life isn't always that way. I do OK with the other pupsters, but can sometimes be a bit pushy with them so a home without another pupster would be best for me. I need a loving home where Mom/Dad understand my background and will set strong behavioral guidelines. I have so much love to give and I am hoping there is a special home out here for me. A home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 would be great and a fenced in yard is a must. I prefer a home with no children.

I am an 16 yr old, caramel and white Shih Tzu boy and weigh 14 lbs. I was born on August 10, 2002. I was having potty accidents in my home so my owners sent me to live with the other pupsters here at PATR.
I am a sweet, loving little boy and my favorite place is your lap. I love belly rubs and kisses. The pupsters here are great and I have so much fun romping and playing with them. I love all of the toys here and snuggling up in a doggy bed with the other pupsters feels so good. At night I just cuddle up to Mom and Dad in bed and think I am in heaven. I am 15 yrs old and weigh 12 lbs. I am a very handsome liver and white Shih Tzu boy. I was born on March 7, 2005.
I am a retired breeder and was turned over to PATR because I suddenly lost my sight. I am a sweet, gentle, loving little boy who enjoys being held and cuddled. A visit to the ophthamologist revealed that the retinas in my eyes are detached. This does not slow me down at all. I have become comfortable with my surroundings and get around wonderfully. I snuggle in with the other pupsters, but much prefer snuggling close to Mom and Dad. I enjoy playing with toys and treat time is the best. I will only be placed in a home where Mom/Dad are home 24/7 and there are no children.

I am a beautiful 10 yr old black Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 9 lbs and was born on October 6, 2009. I am a retired breeder. I was turned over to rescue because I had a cherry eye. Surgery was successful. I do have an issue with my coordination and will walk sideways. When I run my little butt is over to the side. I also have an eating disorder so need lots of special care. I am blind in my left eye and need daily drops in my right eye.
I am a sweet, lovable, little girl, but am very shy. I love to be held and cuddled once I am comfortable with you. I do not socialize much with the other dogs, but prefer to have my own bed and just observe. I look forward to bedtime so I can cuddle close to Mom and Dad. We are both very sweet 15 lb, 15 yr old, black and white Shih Tzu Poodle mixes. We were born on February 19, 2005.
Our Dad's health was not good and it was necessary for him to go into assisted living. The family members could not care for us. We had been with our Dad since we were puppies. We are both very sweet, loving babies. We love to be held and cuddled and sure can give good kisses. We need nothing more than lots of lap time and would love to share your bed with you. Sophie here is sight impaired. We would like to stay together...we love each other so much. We would love a nice fenced in yard to play in and prefer no small children.

Aren't I just the cutest little Shih Tzu girl you have ever seen? I am just a little doll baby and love to play with all of the other pupsters. I am very nervous when meeting strangers. Even though I love my Mom and Dad here, I still play catch me if you can. I am very independent and sometimes I like to be in your lap and other times I prefer to occupy myself. I am a 14 lb, white Pekingese boy. I am 14 yrs old. I was found as a stray in Indiana. PATR received a call and here I am!
Mom says I am the most handsome Pekey boy she has ever seen. I was so matted the people in Indiana had to strip my coat right down to the skin except for my fluffy head. I am hoping my coat will grow out. I am an absolute love bug. Scratch my ears and I fall in love. I do well with all of the other pupsters and love snuggling with them. I also can be very verbal when I want something…like attention or food. I do have dry eye and I am blind. I need eye drops twice a day. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.

I am a very sweet, 8 pound blue and gold, 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier girl. I was born on December 30, 2007.
My Dad was very sick and in assisted living. His caretaker agreed to give me a home. I really bonded with her, but there were children and her husband. Once I got comfortable I began nipping at the children and her husband. She could no longer care for me so here I am at PATR.
I am a very out going loving little girl who wants nothing more than to be in your lap. I do great with the other pupsters, but can be a bit bossy at times. When I want something I definitely let Mom know with my little bark. I'm dreaming of a home where I would be comfortable being the one and only or have a sister/brother that is about my size. A fenced in yard is a must. Hopefully Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the day. I am looking forward to finding my Forever Home.
My diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products.
