have never paid an adoption fee.

    Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

I am a way too cute 1 yr old silver and white Shih Tzu girl. I weigh 12 lbs and was born on September 5, 2018. I joined PATR due to kennel downsizing by my breeder.
Thank you for visiting me..I knew you could not resist my adorable face. It may take me a bit to get comfortable in my new home. I am flourishing here and my personality and energy are coming into full bloom. I am such a sweet little girl and love being around people but I do have a very independent personality. I am not one to spend a lot of time in your lap and prefer to play with my toys. I love to race and play with all of the pupsters and you should see me do the Shih Tzu Blitz! Toys are one of my passions. I am packed full of energy and on the go most of my day. I am looking forward to my Forever Home. I am looking for a home without younger children, will need a fenced in area and a pupster brother or sister to play with would be wonderful.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and leash training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm prevention and natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $350.

Curtsey here! Have you been looking for a gorgeous lady to join your family?? Well, here I am and I cannot wait to meet you. I am a beautiful black & silver, 12 lb, 7 yr old Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder and was born on April 30, 2012.
I am a very active little girl. Mom has nicknamed me "Curious Curtsey". I love to investigate everything. So far I have discovered how to open cupboards and figured out how to take the water bottle stands apart. I will need lots of supervision and activities such as walks and playtime to use up my excess energy. I am shy when meeting strangers, but once I get to know you I am a little love bug. I would love another pupster sister or brother to play with. I will not be a good fit in a home with children. A fenced in yard is a must.
My diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am a very sweet red and white Shih Tzu boy. I weigh 10 lbs and was born on June 4, 2015. I joined PATR because I had a cleft lip and palate. A cleft lip, sometimes referred to as a harelip, is an opening in the upper lip that can extend into the base of the nostril. A cleft palate is an opening in the roof of the mouth. My little tooth sticks up and my nose is crooked. Because surgery is for cosmetic reasons my Mom and our veterinarian chose not to do surgery for I do have some other issues. I have a cervical spine issue which effects how thoughts are processed by my brain. I cross my little paws when standing still and at times have jerky motions.
I am a very energetic and busy little boy. Mom said God was very generous with the energized bunnies when he created me...wonder what that means? Once I get to know you I love laptime and snuggle right in. I am however very good at playing catch me if you can. I love to play with the other pupsters and snuggling at naptime is the best. I would like a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard to romp and play in. No children please.

I am a handsome red and white, 12 yr old, 16 pound Pekingese boy. I was found as a stray and spent 10 days in this very lonely place before my rescue angel arrived
I am a very sweet, lovable little boy that asks nothing more than a soft lap to lay in, belly rubs and lots of kisses. I do fairly well with all of the other pupsters, but can be a bit alpha at times. I love the soft cushy beds and all of the toys. I enjoy riding in the car and do very well on leash. I have been diagnosed with "Intention Tremors". When sleeping or resting the tremors stop, but when up and about my body tremors at times. With the exception of the body tremors I am a happy, healthy little boy. I would love a home with no small children and a fenced in area where I can romp and play.

My sister Lotus and I were turned over to rescue due to "Intention Tremors". My Mom and Dad were both "Blue Shih Tzu". Mom and Dad feel that my condition may have been caused from the breeding for normally it is advised that two "Blues" should not be bred together. When sleeping or resting the tremors stop, but when up and about my whole body tremors. With the exception of the body tremors I am a happy, healthy little girl.< I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.

I am a way too cute, 2 yr old, 10 lb red and white liver Shih Tzu girl. I was born on November 9, 2016. I was turned over by my breeder because I was too small to breed.
I am a very, very sweet little girl. I love lots of attention and Mom's lap is my favorite place to be. I love the other pupsters here and playtime is the best. Hope you are ready to share your bed and your couch with me! I promise I will love you forever and hope you will take me into your heart and home. It would be nice to have another pupster to play with, but I would also be content to be the one and only. I will need a fenced in yard to romp and play in. I prefer no small children.

I am a very cute red and black Shih Tzu Yorkie girl. I weigh 6 lbs and was born on April 12, 2019. I was turned over to rescue due to my breeder downsizing her kennels. I am your typical happy, active pupster.
I am a very energetic little girl...always on the go. I keep all of the other pupsters on their toes let me tell you. I am very loving and sweet. I so enjoy being held and cover Mom and Dad's faces with my sweet kisses. I get along great with the pupsters and love to romp and play. I would love a home with another playmate. A home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 would be great. A fenced in yard is a must. I prefer a home with no children.

I am thrilled to be cuddling with the senior and special needs pupsters. It is unusual for PATR to have a dog as young as me. If you purchased me from a breeder you would pay between $700 to $1000 and then would have the expense of altering and vaccinations which would run around $400. All of my vetting expenses have been met and I feel so good to be able to help some of the needy pupsters who may not find a home with the balance of my adoption fee.
    My adoption fee is $600.

I am a very cute 2 yr old, 13 lb, blonde and white Shih Tzu boy. I was born on October 27, 2017. I joined PATR because my Mom and Dad had cats and I didn't like them at all! They tried different things to curb my aggressive behavior with the cats but nothing worked.
I am a very sweet little boy once I get to know you. I am very high energy and am a nervous little boy so will need lots of patience and a routine exercise program to use up my excess energy. I do love laptime and will cuddle close to you at night. Beware for I am a pillow hog. I do well with the other pupsters, but can be a bit alpha. I would really love a home where I can be the one and only. If I was to find a home with another pupster he/she would need to be non alpha. A fenced in yard is a must and no children.
