have never paid an adoption fee.

    Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

I am an adorable 8 year old, chocolate and white, 12 lb Shih Tzu girl. I was born on June 29, 2011. I am a retired breeder. I am sight impaired and require eye drops twice a day.
I am a loving little girl who will crawl into your lap for my cuddles and kisses. I enjoy playing with the toys, snoozing in the beds and romping and playing outside. I love the other pupsters here and love to romp and play with them. I am an amazing little girl and my blindness does not slow me down a bit. I have lots and lots of love to give my new Mom and Dad. Please give me a home where I will be loved forever with a fenced in yard to romp in and a Mom/Dad that can be home with me 24/7. No children please.
My diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.
We appreciate Amanda Goodblood of Michigan for lovingly sponsoring Fudge.

I am a beautiful 12 lb, 8 yr old, red and white Shih Tzu girl. I am a retired breeder and was born on July 1, 2011. Get a load of this face, I bet you just can't resist! I'm a total sweetie ready to find a family who understands how wonderful I am. I suffer from vestibular disease (head tilting).
Please click on Leeah's Video Clip to see me in action!
I'm fun and playful, I can be easily overwhelmed at times, so I'm searching for a home without small children where I can go at my own pace. I am a sensitive girl, but I respond great to praise and definitely want to please. Interacting with me using toys is one of my favorite things since it builds confidence, allows me to have fun, and lets me bond with you. Can I snuggle with you on the couch? I sure hope so because I definitely love to be on the furniture with my humans. I would love to have another pupster brother or sister to romp and play with for I love, love, love to do the Shih Tzu Blitz with my pupster friends here. I will definitely need a secured fenced in area with lots of room to run to my heart's content.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. Shanda here...aren't I just too cute? I am an adorable 1 yr old, 10 lb black and white Shih Tzu girl and am a retired breeder. I was born on March 24, 2018.
I am searching for a home where I will be loved forever. I am very sweet and love to be held and cuddled, but am very shy until I get to know you. I have the most beautiful eyes that will melt your heart and am always so happy with tail wagging. Lap time is a must for me and I would love to share your pillow and bed with you. Another pupster to play and cuddle with would be great. I am hoping to find a home where Mom and Dad could be home with me most of the time. I will need a fenced in yard and prefer no small children.

    Sully

I am a handsome 2 yr old, 13 lb, black and white Shih Tzu boy. I was born on February 27, 2017. I joined PATR due to behavioral issues with the other canine and feline pets in my prior home.
I am the sweetest most lovable little boy. I enjoy everyone I meet and am very social. I absolutely love any toy that is available and can be quite the acrobat tossing and throwing my toys in the air. Though I love all humans I am not fond of other dogs or cats. I just do not know how to play properly with another dog. For some reason when playtime starts I accelerate into bad behavior. Instead of playing I take the other dog right down. So I will need a home by myself and should always be supervised when interacting with other dogs. I will, however be the best pillow buddy you have ever had. I have so much love to give to my future Mom/Dad. I will need a fenced in yard and prefer no children.

I am a way too cute, 3 yr old, 13 lb chocolate and white Shih Tzu girl. I was born on October 17, 2016. I am a retired breeder.
I am a very, very sweet little girl. I love lots of attention and Mom's lap is my favorite place to be. I love the other pupsters here and playtime is the best. Hope you are ready to share your bed and your couch with me! I promise I will love you forever and hope you will take me into your heart and home. It would be nice to have another pupster to play with, but I would also be content to be the one and only. I will need a fenced in yard to romp and play in. I prefer no small children.

I weigh 11 lbs and am a 4 yr old handsome, energetic chocolate Shih Tzu boy. I was born on August 20, 2015. I am a retired breeder.
I am a bit unsure of myself at times, but once I get to know you get ready for a soft, fuzzy, loving little boy snuggled close in your lap. I have so much fun with the pupsters here and really enjoy being cuddled and held. My Mom says I have the most beautiful eyes that make her heart melt every time I look at her. I would love a home with another pupster to play with and a fenced in yard is a must. No children please. Can't wait to meet my Mom and Dad!

I am a very cute gold and black Yorkshire Terrier boy. I weigh 7 lbs and was born on March 17, 2017. My breeder passed away unexpectedly and she requested that I join the PATR pupsters.
I am a very energetic little boy...always on the go. I keep all of the other pupsters on their toes let me tell you. I am very loving and sweet. I so enjoy being held and cover Mom and Dad's faces with my sweet kisses. I get along great with the pupsters and love to romp and play. A home where Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 would be great and a fenced in yard to romp and play in is a must. I prefer a home with no children.
