Peke A Tzu Rescue
Foster Journal

We thought all of you out there would like to see what happens here in our home so we decided we would pop in on occasion and let you know what we are doing. Some days it is just the same old routine, but other times we have a lot of excitement. We hope you enjoy hearing about our activities and seeing a few pictures. The majority of the time you will see us happy, healthy and well groomed, but there is a significant cost involved to get each of us to this point which can be viewed at Foster Vetting Costs..

They are back! As you all know we pupsters are nature buffs. Mrs. Robin has returned and once again we are going to be Aunties and Unkies to four beautiful Robins. In case you have forgotten the story years ago this gentleman made a log house mail box for Mom and she has been hauling it everywhere she goes. Anyway, the mailbox found a home in one of our flower beds. Mrs. Robin discovered it and this is the third year she has returned. We can’t seem to get a picture of her warming the eggs, but we thought this would suffice. We will keep you updated……we’re going to have babies!

Not a lot exciting going on today. Promise here is just out relaxing on the deck and enjoying life. Actually Mom groomed me today and insisted that I pose so all of you could see how boooootiful I am! Now, that’s what Mom tells me, but I am still a bit unsure of myself you know. She says I could probably benefit from some “Pupster Self Assurance” classes. Frankly, I would just rather she and Dad continue to snuggle me close…there is not another class out there better than this!

Well, here we go again! We may have a May Pupster Wedding to prepare for. Caprice and Toto have an affair going on. There must be something in the air. Now, we pupsters have been telling Toto that Caprice may be a bit too old for him. He is saying that he feels maturity is a strong attribute in a pupster girl. The rest of us pupsters are totally confused. We prefer to play the “field” if you know what we mean….

OK Mom, I need to file a formal complaint. Precious is totally out of control now. She licks and licks and licks me. Now it is at the point where she pins me down and slobbers all over me! Marik here has had my fill of this ridiculous behavior. I know you let her do anything she wants, but I think it is time to draw the line. Why don’t you go out and buy a life size stuffed animal that looks similar to me. Maybe she will become attached to that!

May 5, 2010

Hey Mom and Dad, look at me! Cocoa here can touch his nose with his tongue. Can anyone else out here do this? I am pretty impressed with myself. It also saves on a lot of Kleenex if you know what I mean. Wonder if Barnum & Bailey could make use of my talent. I can see my name in lights already. “The Amazing Cocoa. Longest tongue in the world!” Hope they pay well for I need to save some money for my college pupstercation!

May 6, 2010

Oh for Pupsters sake Mom, what would make you think I was in the poop while you were in the shower? You know Noodles and Shilo were on poop patrol today and nobody gets passed them! The truth of the matter is that April frosted my hair for me while you were showering. Looks pretty cool don’t you think? MMMM, I have a feeling you are not going for this one….I hear the bath water running!

May 7, 2010

We pupsters were complaining about the rain, but this surely makes up for it. This is the second rainbow we have seen and we think it is more beautiful than the first! We wanted to share with you. If you look at all around you there is so much to be thankful for. Nature provides us with so much beauty and it is all free! Close your eyes and watch for you will see many animals traveling this road to reach the Rainbow Bridge. Their journey is filled with beauty. We understand as we say goodbye to our pupster sisters and brothers that they are traveling a road of beauty as they leave us and someday we will travel that same road to be with them once again.

May 8, 2010

We are now the proud pupster parents of one baby Robin and are patiently waiting for our other three kids to be born. We don’t know if we have a girl or a boy. We will have to tell you that this baby is definitely not going to be in any beauty contest. Mom quietly explained to us that a newborn grows into its’ beauty day by day. We normally trust what she says, but at this point we are definitely having our doubts. What we can’t figure out is why it only took 7 days and it takes 9 months for humans!

All of us pupsters wanted to be in a picture for all of the Mothers today, but of course that wasn’t possible so we went back to drawing straws and our beautiful Liana won the draw.
There are so many things about Mothers that are special. Our Mothers devote their time throughout our growing years as children to teach us good values and love for others, our Mothers love us unconditionally, our Mothers are always here for us no matter what happens in our lives, our Mother’s hugs and kisses are always available to us whenever we need them and the list could go on and on.
Each day there should be a thank you, a kind word, a hug if possible for our Moms for every day is Mother’s Day! Always keep in mind that our Mothers are not invincible, they will leave us someday so every day that they are with us is very, very special.
We pupsters wish all of you Moms out there a very, very special Mother’s Day!

May 10, 2010

Hey Mom and Dad, thank you so much for building Elmo here his very own special lookout tower! OK, so I will have to admit this was made to cover up the propane lines coming out of the house to make sure none of we pupsters would be tempted to knaw away, but this is perfect for me. You didn’t think I could jump this high did you? This is perfect to survey “my” kingdom although Hansel and Gretel wanted to know if I knew about a game called “King on the Mountain”. Looks like I may have a bit of competition!

May 11, 2010

We would like to dedicate our day to our Hershey. Hershey was adopted in 2004 along with our Lola by two wonderful gentlemen in Canada. He was a sweet, lovable little boy who filled his Dad’s lives with joy . Hershey left us today to join all of our other babies at the Rainbow Bridge. He was nearly 16 ½ years old. Our thoughts and prayers are with David, Frank and Lola.

May 12, 2010

We have been waiting and waiting and finally Mrs. Deery brought her baby out for us to see. Last year she had two babies with her. We were hoping for triplets this year. Oh well, maybe next year. We were so excited to see her once again. She even romped and played with her little one in our yard. All of us pupsters lined up on the deck and enjoyed watching both of them. They are so graceful and so happy to have freedom to do as they wish.

May 13, 2010

Well, here we are again. Another of those days that brings tears of sadness and happiness. Our Bishop has found his very special home. You know he had been with us for awhile and applications had been submitted, but not that very special one for him. We pupsters can always tell when an application arrives that looks good for one of us pupsters because Mom gets excited, then she cries, then she gets excited, then she cries again. Her emotions used to confuse us, but now we understand. Excitement to know that one of us has found their special home, tears shed in preparation for the goodbye. If you cannot tell, just look at the picture….Bishop’s Mom is already in love!

May 14, 2010

Marco, you stick your tongue in my ear one more time and I am telling Mom. You’d best be ready for a huge timeout because this is very inappropriate behavior. Caprice here knows you think you are really macho, but frankly you have absolutely no effect on me whatsoever. If you think this is romantic you are way off base. I think it is absolutely disgusting so please direct your amorous behavior to one of the other pupster girls.

May 15, 2010

We pupsters are sure you remember our Auntie Jamie, you know, the one who abandoned us and moved to California? Well, today was the most special day in her life. She married our Unkie Jeff. We love her very much and we know that she will live happily ever after. Maybe she will have a change of heart and her and Unkie Jeff will move back here to escape those earthquakes! We can only hope you know. We miss her so much….

May 19, 2010

We are so sorry that we missed a few days in the journal. We have been really busy. Belly Band sales have been very slow and donations have been scarce so we all are chipping in getting ready for an auction to sell those things we just do not need anymore. Also, Mom has been busy listing on eBay plus preparing donated designer items for the Gift Shop. We have all been trying to help the best we can. Gotta make sure we get fed you know!

May 20, 2010

Today we said goodbye to the sweetest, most loving little Pekey girl anyone could have ever met….our Giselle. She could not hear nor see, but her love for life was unbelievable! She was an amazing little girl who did not allow what life had dealt to her affect her in any way. She loved to go out with Mom when she was gardening and would lift her little nose to the air to enjoy all of the scents around her. We will miss our sweet little teddy bear!

May 21, 2010

It was one of those days today! Our tears were doubled for our Joslyn and Josie both left us for their Forever Home. We pupsters are excited though, for they will have each other to romp and play with. Joslyn and Josie smothered their Mom with kisses and you can see she was ready, able and more than willing to hold them close. They promised they would send us emails and lots of pictures.

May 22, 2010

Well, we don’t mean to bore you again with our Nature stories, but our kids are just about ready to leave us. We were hoping our babies would stay a bit longer with us this time, but just wasn’t meant to happen. Unfortunately one of Mrs. Robin’s babies left for the Rainbow Bridge. We named the remaining babies Larry, Moe and Curly. This is Larry getting ready to investigate the world and we know Curly and Moe will be right behind him. Wonder if Mrs. Robin will be back again. She must have one impressive hubby!

May 23, 2010

Mom, why are you looking at Otis that way? I am just settling in for my afternoon nap. I have absolutely no idea who got the treats off from the counter. It certainly wasn’t me! What did you say? Oh, you want to know why I am licking my nose. Well, if you have to know the Kleenex was out of reach so a guy has to do what a guy has to do you know. Why do I have this feeling you don’t believe me?

May 24, 2010

Oh come on Sushi, quit playing so hard to get. Benny here is ready to wine and dine you. I even asked Mom if it was OK if we went for a little stroll together and she said it would be fine. I am really attracted to you. Just give me a chance to show you how much I truly care. Would it help if I shared my treats with you? Come on, just give me a little break here…I promise you won’t be sorry.

May 25, 2010

Ramsey here reporting in. You know I have been going back and reading foster journal entries and there has been this thing about the longest tongues. Sooooo, I decided I was going to make my mark in the world by proving that I could reach my eyebrows with my tongue. Well, I’ll tell you, I am plumb worn out! It just doesn’t work. I guess I’ll have to concede that this is not my forte’.

May 26, 2010

Hey all you pupsters…I am reporting in from my Forever Home. Just wanted to let all of you know I am happy, happy, happy!! By the way I don’t suppose you have noticed how much room I have surrounding me…not a pupster in sight! I have this house all to myself and I am loving it! Don’t have to share any beds or any toys. Well, I will have to admit that I do miss all of you, but Mom makes up for it with all of the love she showers upon me. Talk to you all later!
Love,
Bishop

May 27, 2010

Geez, decisions, decisions. Do you think flower colors have different flavors? Hey Claire, what do you think? Logan, you seem to be leaning more toward the red, Haley you do not seem to think this is a good idea. Oh no, Benson is trying to eat the dirt…YUK! Trenton just says he will wait and take what’s left. We’d best watch Quenton because he will jump right in and eat everything before we have made our decision! Someone needs to make sure they leave something for Mirila you know. Hope Shilo is doing his job correctly and gives us a heads up before Mom catches us at this. She shouldn’t have left her flowers unattended.

May 28, 2010

I am going to tell you right now Fiona that Kendy here is not going to be any part of the puppy conspiracy….you are talking to the wrong pupster here. If you puppies want to join forces to take over the bed that JD is in don’t look at me for advice or help. That boy, in my opinion, has a few screws loose and when he starts the Shih Tzu blitz get the pupsters off the streets. You are on your own on this one. I am just going to sit back observe and watch the fun.

May 29, 2010

Hey everyone, what do you think about my new summer do? Well, actually Temple here wasn’t supposed to look quite like this, but Mom was clipping away, I moved and everything had to be evened out if you know what I mean. Actually I kind of like my new look. I told all of the girls I was going to enlist in the army and was trying to get used to a shorter cut. They have been swarming around me telling me how proud they are of me…fickle girls!

May 30, 2010

Whew! Is it ever hot today! 90 degrees plus just isn't getting it! Moxie here normally spends most of my day outside enjoying the sun, but will have to admit even I could not handle the warmth. So I decided I’d best just come inside, spread out and relax. Guess I’ll have to put my order in with the weatherman. I need about a week of 72 degree weather, sunny and a nice soft breeze blowing through my hair.

May 31, 2010

Memorial Day is in honor of those who have fallen in service to our country. We pupsters did quite a bit of research about Memorial Day because we couldn’t figure out why it fell on different dates each year. Traditional observance of Memorial Day has diminished over the years. Many Americans have forgotten the meaning and traditions of Memorial Day. Most people no longer remember the proper flag etiquette for the day. They only look forward to a three day weekend. At many cemeteries, the graves of the fallen are increasingly ignored and neglected. We pupsters feel that observance of Memorial Day on May 30th should be reinstated so that the solemn and even sacred spirit is returned to this traditional day of observance. Memorial Day is about coming together to honor those who gave their all for our country. We pupsters ask that all of you please pause for just a moment from whatever you may be doing today in remembrance and respect for those that have given their lives for our country and protected the freedom that many take for granted.
