Peke A Tzu Rescue
Foster Journal

We thought all of you out there would like to see what happens here in our home so we decided we would pop in on occasion and let you know what we are doing. Some days it is just the same old routine, but other times we have a lot of excitement. We hope you enjoy hearing about our activities and seeing a few pictures. The majority of the time you will see us happy, healthy and well groomed, but there is a significant cost involved to get each of us to this point which can be viewed at
Foster Vetting Costs..
If you would like to help us with our care please visit our

Well folks spring has really sprung now! Our daffodils are going strong and we just love looking at the beautiful colors. Biscuit was out with Mom doing a bit of weed pulling and checking out the flower beds today. The sun was shining and we were actually having a heat wave…60 degrees. Hopefully the bunnies will leave our daffodils alone. If not we pupsters are going to do some research on bunny preventatives. There has got to be something to deter their appetites!

You know Mom, Barney and Magic here have been thinking about taking a road trip up north. You know, kind of cruise around and just see what is happening. We heard Dad was heading that way so wondered if it would be OK if we tagged along. We thought we would run it by you before we approached Dad with the idea. Maybe you could just soften him up a bit for us? We promise we would behave!

May 3, 2011

Hey Marilee….isn’t this great? We have our own lawn chairs back on the deck again. Actually they are our little brass beds, but Mom knew we so enjoy them out here. Uh, Macy are you paying attention to Elizabeth here? Anyway, the biggest obstacle is to make sure that some of the macho boys do not “mark” on these. Mom said not to worry, that is what the washing machine is for, but I think she should belly band every single one of those that even consider lifting a leg.

So, you all think Logan here is a bit pigeon toed…well, keep laughing your pupster butts off because I am in the perfect position to really get some action going here. I am perched on the table that is very, very close to all of the food action. I have been on surveillance for quite some time. Access to all food is to my right and I have figured out exactly how to breach Mom’s food security! Those that want to join me in my venture are welcome…just be prepared for major “time outs” if we get caught.

Did you all know that this week is Pupster Dental Week? It is very important to eat balanced meals and brush your teeth at least twice a day. Oh, and don’t forget to floss. Of course the added bonus is chewing on a raw chicken wing…keeps that tarter away you know. Chantelle here showing her pearly whites to prove what good dental hygiene is all about.

May 6, 2011

Yep, you got it! It is Wrestle Pupster Mania again! As usual Shilo is keeping Mom busy as we gather around to see who is going to win the match. Laughin’ Logan and Pretty Boy Pepsi are the contenders this week. The match has been close so far, but it looks like Laughin’ Logan is coming out on top. Everyone get their treats ready to disburse to the winner!

Spud reporting in to let all know how I am doing. Boy, life does not get any better than this. This feels so good! I turned 18 this year and am slowing down a bit. Mom says that is to be expected and says I am 126 years old…what is she talking about? I spend my days being loved and cuddled when I am not napping. I get a bit cranky with the youngsters, but Mom says that is OK. Many thought I wouldn’t be here today, but here I am. I so love my Mom and Dad for all they have done for me. Well, better go….need another nap.

May 8, 2011

Well, it says Raspberry on it so that’s a fruit. Mom says fruits are good for us so she shouldn’t object if we share these cookies with each other. Not our fault she left it too close to the edge of the counter. Jasper was just tall enough to reach it. OK, how many are in this package? We need to share you know. You get it open Magic, and Marilee will distribute the goodies. I think this is going to be well worth the time out.

May 9, 2011

Have any of you had one of those days where you just like to be by yourself, chew on your favorite toy and contemplate about life? I love all of the other pupsters, but there are times that Champagne here just needs my own space. Of course this does give me time to plan my next day. You know, how many treats I can steal, shoe laces I can untie, pupsters tails I can pull…the important things in life.

May 10, 2011

Let’s see, we pupsters counted how many large beds we have in the house and we have 16. Now you would think that Devas would choose something more his size, but no, he insists on taking one of our little beds. We think he does it purposely for he’ll lay in the bed with one eye open guarding the bed. We are going to have to talk to Mom about this. She needs to put Devas in his right place and that is the bigger beds.

May 11, 2011

She’s back!!! We love to watch the Robins arrive and we pupsters patiently wait to see if Mrs. Robin returns to have her children. She hasn’t disappointed us yet. Then we watch as they grow. We think they need a different diet though…worms, YUK!! The only thing that concerns us is they leave the nest when they are so young. We think they should have more time with their Mom and Dad!

May 12, 2011

Come on girls…back it off! Santo here tried a new shampoo, but I had no idea it was going to have this effect. Geez, maybe I should have tried it before. Hey Kori, what do you think? And Kendy, pretty neat huh? Mom mixed it up from essential oils just especially for me. I have been having a few skin problems, but boy, do I feel good now!

May 13, 2011

Well, here it is in brown and white….one of the culprits! We were gazing out the window and told Mom to come and look quick because now the bunnies are eating our grass! She quietly stood looking out the window and then turned to us and said “Have you ever had rabbit stew?” We just looked at her and said “UGH! You have got to be kidding!” She then started laughing at the disgusted looks on our faces. She said she was only kidding and loved the bunnies no matter what their faults.

May 14, 2011

Oh boy, Auntie Carolyn sent us a whole bunch of fleece throws. We love them because they are so soft and warm. There were all different kinds of colors so Mom let us each pick the color we liked best. Now we need to just keep the “Fleece Snatchers” away from our throws. They’ll sneak up on us at night and yank our throws right out from underneath us. This time we have some undercover pupsters ready for them and they are going to report to Mom immediately.

May 15, 2011

Well, we started out watching Animal Planet, but it wasn’t very exciting. Mom wouldn’t change the channel to anything else. Sure wish she would take off that pupster control. Anyway, as you can see we got totally bored and decided just to crash, cuddle and enjoy each other’s company.

May 16, 2011

Hey, who needs FTD when you have a Dad like ours. Mom loves the smell of lilacs so Dad brought her some home. It is so funny because he does this every year and Mom gets all mushy about it. She always asks him where he got the lilacs from for Mom says it is inappropriate to take from someone’s yard. Geez, Dad would never do that! Dad’s answer is always the same. He tells Mom God pointed them out to him and said it was fine to pick a bouquet for her.

May 17, 2011

Oh man, do we ever need to get rid of these goose clothes! We keep telling Mom to dress the goose not us, but she doesn’t listen. She thought Devas may want to play a little ball. Now, does Devas look like he is all excited about pitching a game? Devas warned us if we even let out one little snicker he would steal all of our treats for a week.

May 18, 2011

Oh come on Mom, Magic was just telling us about his new girlfriend. What the Pekey Pupsters are telling you is not true. We Tzu are not planning a raid on their belongings. That would never occur to any of us even though they have been hoarding all of the toys. We love our Pekey sisters and brothers. You know what you tell us all of the time. Everyone is equal and we stand by that.

May 19, 2011

Mom please put that camera up and if you share this picture with anyone Champagne here is going to be very, very upset. No Pupster girl wants to be seen when they first wake up in the morning and haven’t had their first cup of water. You know how you are. You want to be left alone in the morning. We can’t even have a decent conversation with you for about an hour after you get up. I only ask that you show me the same consideration and please wipe that smile off your face!

May 20, 2011

Pappy, Dickens and Mitch got into quite the disagreement this morning. It was all about who was going to go through the doggy door first. Now, you wouldn’t think that would be any big deal, but to them it is. First one out gets first dibs on the toys that were put away the evening before. Things got pretty heated to the point that a few teeth were even being displayed. Mom had to break it up and had a nice long discussion with the boys. We have a feeling this won’t happen again!

May 21, 2011

Honest Mom, Temple here did not do what Lace is accusing me of. I am more of a gentleman than that. She’s just trying to get me in trouble because I stole her treat this morning. Why are you plugging your nose? I get the feeling you do not believe me!

May 22, 2011

Well, the weather has finally warmed up. Mom is into spring cleaning so she is cleaning everything in sight. All of our beds are unavailable at the moment and we couldn’t wait any longer to take our morning nap. Hopefully she will be done with this madness soon so we can get back to normal.

May 23, 2011

Uh, we pupsters think we are going to move to Wisconsin! Can you believe this? Shasta (fka Vance) sent us this picture just to taunt us. He says he was just sharing his day with us, but we pupsters know better. He’d best get his billfold out because it is going to cost him a pretty penny when we arrive. We are making a list of our favorite ice cream flavors and will be on the bus and on our way tomorrow!

May 24, 2011

OK Arpel, are you ready for the race to the finish? Celia here will teach you what it is all about. You need to start moving a little faster. I can zip in and out of any area so fast that it makes Mom and Dad’s heads spin. Just crouch down a bit, rev your engine and be ready for the first opportunity that comes your way. When those gates open, you need to have the pupster pedal to the floor…just make sure it doesn’t stick though!

May 25, 2011

Well, Precious did it again. She sent Mom into panic mode because she couldn’t find her. Dad tried to calm Mom down and just told her common sense will tell you she can’t have gone far. Precious crawled into the toy box and laid there with her little eyes just sparkling watching Mom running all over the house looking for her. Someone needs to have a heart to heart talk with Precious. Her little tricks are very disrupting to the rest of us pupsters.

May 30, 2011

All of us are so thankful to live in a country where we can love and be loved freely. Sometimes we complain about this and that, but we pupsters definitely know we are living in the best country ever. We would all like to thank those that protect us and keep us so safe. All who lost their lives to protect what we hold so dear are in our thoughts today. We are also thinking of family members that have lost their loved ones. Today is a day to reach out and hold each other very close.

May 31, 2011

Boy, is this ever getting boring. No sun, rain, rain, rain, rain. Hopefully June will bring more sun than rain. Come on Grayson, why don’t Bali here and you try to find something to do that is a bit more exciting. Do you think Mom and Dad would let us play any computer games? There have got to be some good “Dog Chase Cat” games out there wouldn’t you think? Or let’s see, we could go around and pull a few tails here and there, that would get some excitement started. MMMM, well, the easiest thing to do is start howling and all will join in. OK, Grayson, up and at ‘em boy…..time to sing some songs!
