Peke A Tzu Rescue
Foster Journal

We thought all of you out there would like to see what happens here in our home so we decided we would pop in on occasion and let you know what we are doing. Some days it is just the same old routine, but other times we have a lot of excitement. We hope you enjoy hearing about our activities and seeing a few pictures. The majority of the time you will see us happy, healthy and well groomed, but there is a significant cost involved to get each of us to this point which can be viewed at Foster Vetting Costs.

Whew, we can finally put all of this paperwork away. My eyes were beginning to cross. Calla here, can’t believe Mom can keep working with all of this paperwork without having it affect her sight. You see, there was this pupster named Maddie who totally won the hearts of her Mom and Dad. Because of their love for Maddie they have helped so many animals through the Maddie’s Fund. Many rescues and shelters were presented with information to submit a request for funding from Maddie’s. We sent our information off in the mail and will await the results. The wonderful thing is that no matter the results, some of our animal friends will be helped.

Here we are, the three pupsterteers….Elvis, Leana and Asti. We have all kinds of beds available, but really prefer to snuggle close to each other. Just look at us, this is what love and caring for each other is all about. You know not only us pupsters, but all others really need to work in the area of loving and sharing. Life gets busy and sometimes we lose track of the important things in life. Everyone should put some special time aside each day just to tell those we care about how much we love them. A special kiss and hug for our loved ones can brighten their whole day.

Frankly Mom, Kia here is not interested in joining the Pupster Mop Patrol. The Poopy Patrol is stressful enough. Not being a pupster smarty or anything, but don’t you think that this whole issue would be resolved if those that are doing the peeing would just learn to go outside where they are supposed to go? If you would like I would be happy to create and oversee a “Pupster Potty Training Committee”. We would be happy to take this into our own paws and concentrate on those that don’t “get it”. Just give me the OK and we’ll get things rolling!

November 4, 2007
Wow, would you look at this? We watched as the corn was planted and then it took forever for the corn to grow. We watched it day by day as it grew from a baby into adulthood. Our Miss Deery and her babies surely enjoyed munching away. Today, all of these big funny looking things came in and began eating up our beloved corn which we had nurtured from afar. We were upset at first, but then Mom and Dad explained to us that all of the corn would help so many.
PS: Mom has been eyeing those big red wagons for they left them behind tonight full of corn. She is trying to figure out if there are any ladders on the wagons so that she could “borrow” some of the corn to feed the deer and birds during the winter. Let’s hope she doesn’t even go there!

I know, I know…I’ve heard you tell me over and over, “Perry, that is Jetta’s bed.” But you will have to admit pink really compliments me. Hey, Auntie Jen would go along with this one because I know she puts pastel colored bows in her boy’s hair. Aw, come on Mom, just give a break on this one please? I really am getting attached to this bed. I promise I will give you twice as many slurpy kisses if you will just let me stay here for the night.

November 6, 2007
Can you tell by the disgusted look on my face that I have had it up to my paws with this sharing thing? Geez, a Pekey girl can’t even get a drink of water around here without having to wade through a bunch of rude guys. Now, you would think that they would have some manners and let the girls go first, but oh no, they are as unpupstermanly as you could get! Jenna here is just about to nip some butts on this one…that is if I can get away with it without Mom seeing me do it!

November 7, 2007
One…UGH, Two…UGH, Three…UGH, Four…UGH. Mom how many pushups did you say I had to do? Shaylei sending out an SOS to the Collins PATR Crew! You think timeouts are bad when you are naughty, well you should be here! Sitting in a little room by yourself is a piece of cake compared to doing fifty pushups…oh my, Mom is that what you really said? OK I am back at it and will do my best. Of course there is an upside to this. My body will stay firm and trim which will draw even more pupster boys to my side. Five…UGH…Six...UGH!

November 8, 2007
Oh boy, were we glad Auntie Lesley came to see us today for her “Pupster Fix” as she calls it. We definitely accommodated her in every way we could. We gave her extra special kisses and cuddles for she needed a break from the sewing machine and belly bands. We so appreciate everything she is doing for us pupsters. You see Unkie Harvey has been so sick so Auntie Jen has not been doing any sewing. That leaves Auntie Lesley and she is one amazing belly band producer let us tell you! We wanted to bake her a special cake, but Mom said she would much rather have our furry bodies close to her.

November 9, 2007
As you can see, we are being very, very good. Someone peed on the futon again and Mom is on the warpath! We can’t really blame her for this is the third time today. Of course it definitely wasn’t any of us that are currently waiting for the fresh bedding to be put back on. Guess we’d best organize a team of investigators and solve this mystery before all of our futon privileges are taken away. Mom was mumbling something under her breath about teaching us how to change beds and use the washer and dryer.

November 10, 2007
You know Dylan here is always hunting soft, cushy places to relax. I just kind of sneak up on the other pupsters and plant myself on them. I am so little that they do not even feel me. Of course I hunt out those that sleep very soundly. I am very observant you know and research my cuddling victims very carefully before making any rash decisions. There are some that do not appreciate my cuddling abilities, but Olivia has no problems at all. OK, yawn, I am ready to nap away…sweet dreams to all!

November 11, 2007
OK, Suzette, get that silly smirk off your face. Keegan here has no idea what all of the confusion is about. So big deal, I am not white like you, I am not a Pekingese, Shih Tzu, Yorkie, Maltese or Poodle. Actually I had no idea that there was any other breed than a Brussels Griffon before I arrived here and thought all dogs were supposed to be red. I know you are disagreeing with me because you snuck in on the computer to check out pictures, but you just wait until my face grows out…you will be begging me for pupster dates!

November 12, 2007
Kelsey here letting all of you pupsters know that I have taken over the “special spot” in Mom’s computer desk. I can curl up and relax, lie on my tummy and view the whole living room or, as in this case, just stretch out on my back, stare up at Mom while she is working on the computer, give her my soulful look with my big brown eyes and get anything I want. Sure is great because I get lots of treats that Mom sneaks to me without anyone else knowing. Tell you what…I’ll sell my technique to all of you, but it will cost you a month’s worth of treats!

November 13, 2007
You know life cannot get any better than this. We love to watch Asti when she settles in for the evening. Sometimes she chooses to share her bed with others, but then there are times like this where she cuddles up in a nice soft bed with her favorite toys. Of course we are glad when she finally chooses to go to sleep for she is one busy little girl. She just plain makes us dizzy with her twirling abilities. All of us pupsters love her dearly though and are so happy that she is so contented.

November 14, 2007
OK, everyone is Mom distracted enough so that I can change the channel? Mom needs to move a few pieces of furniture around so I do not have access to getting up here, but don’t tell her that! Hope all of those that are assigned to lookout patrol are doing their jobs because I am getting ready to change the channel. Julian figured out how to bypass the parental control so we can check out some of these great videos on Mad TV. Noodles here found one that is really interesting…kind of makes me think of Mom and Dad. If anyone out there would like to see what I discovered I will be happy to share. Dog Video Clip.

November 15, 2007
Mommmmm!!! We have a situation here that needs your attention. Summer hasn’t even been here two days and Perry is making out with her. He has already charmed his way into her heart…what a pupsternova he is! Geez, look at Summer with her tongue hanging out, how disgusting. Now, if you would like Arpel to take this into my own paws and give Perry an attitude adjustment just let me know. Then I will take Summer aside and tell her the whole story about Mr. Perry!

November 16, 2007
OK, you know how all of us pupsters are always trying to figure out a new fund raiser or something for the Gift Shop that will help pay our vetting costs. Wellll, Spud here has a fantastic idea! Newman is the softest pillow anyone could possibly lay on. Now, all we have to do is figure out the logistics of all of this. What material his coat is made of, exact weight, proper measurement, temperature settings and we will be in. We can call our new pillow the Newmy Comfy Pillow by PATR. I’m here to tell you that this will solve the sleep insomniac’s problems!

November 17, 2007
I have a special story to tell you. Someone committed to rescuing me from a shelter. For some reason they chose not to do so. Gee, maybe it was because I was a biter and had issues…I can’t really tell you. But, because of this I was facing euthanization. Auntie Jen who had not talked to Mom in quite some time('Tis another great story ) knew about me and contacted Mom and Dad to let them know. Dad jumped in the car immediately to come to my rescue. We are now celebrating our 4 year Anniversary today…Mom, Dad, Auntie Jen, Unkie Harvey and I. Not that I have a big ego or anything, but I feel darn proud of being the one to bring Mom and Auntie Jen together. Can I be difficult….you bet…will I still bite…right again, but all love me unconditionally. Happy Anniversary to Mom, Dad, Auntie Jen and Unkie Harvey. I love all of you so much.

BIG pupster alert here! Dad is trying to get a bit of rest here you know and I am trying to make sure that happens. Now, Bobo and Montgomery may not see eye to eye a lot, but hey, who said canine and feline equals compatibility? My biggest fear right now is that I think Montgomery has been spending too much time watching TV and accessing different video presentations. Somehow he bypassed the parental control and saw Cat Video Clip. If he has been influenced by this in any way, have no fear, Bobo will make sure that Dad will be safe and sound.

November 19, 2007
OK, Prancie, just let Twila handle this OK? There is no way that Mom can figure out who may have done the “deed”. Just continue to look very innocent, cuddle up closely to me and we are in. Have faith in me for I have been here before. Let Mom chill out a bit, you lay down, I’ll be right here beside you, we’ll both close our eyes and nap away. When we wake up the trauma will be over with and Mom will have forgotten all about it.

November 20, 2007
We are so thankful for the water bottle stands that Unkie Harvey makes for us. Chester, who cannot see nor hear absolutely loves these! He told us that water bowls are the thing of the past. Chester amazes us, for we can see everything, but he teaches us so much every single day. His sense of smell is something else. We have four water bottle stands in the house and he knows where every single one is at. If one should become empty he rattles and rattles it until he gets Mom’s attention. You gotta know that she is there for him within seconds. Actually, we think he may have her wrapped right around his paws.

November 21, 2007
I have absolutely no idea what you may be talking about Mom. You asked me to get on the scale and I cooperated. Well, sort of, half on and half on works for me. What, there is actually a little window that tells you the weight? Geez, I didn’t know that. Actually Harvey here is really offended in that you may think I may be a bit overweight. I will have to admit that I may be just a “bit” pudgy so have been researching on the internet and found Weight Watchers Pupsternymous. Sounds like a pretty good program..I’ll keep you updated, but in the meantime just keep my bowl full!

November 22, 2007
Wow, Thanksgiving Day! It is here before we know it. Means another year has passed, but we have had so many good experiences along the way and made so many friends. We talked about drawing straws for the Thanksgiving Pupster of 2007, but felt that Lorre, who recently arrived needed the experience of being turned loose in the midst of Turkey, Dressing and Gravy. Her shyness immediately dissipated when presented with all of the goodies. All of us pupsters hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we are thinking of all of you.

November 23, 2007
Some of you may be getting tired of seeing Willow and her massive tongue, but you should have to live with her. Day in and day out this is what we see and then she makes these smacking sounds that are starting to drive us crazy. We think there is something a little loose in Willow’s head, you know what we mean? There has got to be some kind of program Mom and Dad can enroll her in. You know, something similar to pupsteranonymous. This is truly obsessive pupster behavior…hey, who knows…maybe she has been sneaking a sip of Mom’s wine on occasion.

November 24, 2007
This has been one of the most exciting and emotional days we have had in a long, long time. Auntie Sandy and Cousin Jeremy drove all the way from Massachusetts to pick up their Forever Babies, Chase, Rolo, Skye, Felicity, Danette and Chipper. Mom had been preparing us for over a month to say goodbye to our brothers and sisters. You know it just never gets any easier. We all love each other so much. We will miss Chase’s never ending energy, Rolo’s body snuggled up close to us at night, Skye’s gentle ways, Felicity’s soft kisses , Danette’s beautiful face and Chipper’s sweet smile. Auntie Sandy cried the whole time while she was here….she loves all of us so much. She tried to tuck a few of us into her shirt, but Mom is always on guard for any pupster snatchers you know. Cousin Jeremy had a smile on his face the whole time he was here, particularly when he snuggled with Skye. Auntie Sandy brought all kinds of goodies for us and Mom. One thing we are really excited about is the Christmas beds that she brought for us. We can’t wait until Mom gets them out for us for the Holidays. We promised Auntie Sandy that we wouldn’t tee tee on them, but you know there are some of us that just can’t resist that…thank goodness they are washable. Time passed so quickly and before we knew it we had to say our final goodbyes. Mom made sure she took pictures as all were getting settled down for their long trip back to Massachusetts. The tears flowed as we said our final goodbyes, but we know that our sisters and brothers are going to such a wonderful home. We love you and miss you so much!!!

November 25, 2007
It has been awhile since we have had a serious wrestling match. Notorious Noodles and Strongpupster Shilo are entertaining us today. All bets are in and round one has begun. We really need to hold quite a few wrestling matches before Christmas for we need to buy Christmas Presents you know. This time we all paid our entry fee and we will all share buying presents. Of course we did place a few side bets, couldn’t resist. Just so long as Mom and Dad don’t find out we are safe. Of course if we get caught we’ll just tell them we are doing this so we can buy them a really neat gift. Think they’ll believe us?

November 26, 2007
Nougat here has a few issues to discuss with you. Number one Mom, your attempt to stop the “lifters” by removing the valanced cover on the bed has failed. They just pull the blankie down a bit so it is accessible. Now, keep in mind that I would never participate in this activity. Number two, I would like to file a complaint against the pupster girls for hogging our little brass beds. I have asked Haley, Caprice and Peeka nicely to move over a bit so I can cuddle in with them. They are trying to tell me the girls aren’t allowed to sleep with the boys. Geez, when did this rule go into affect…I must have missed one of the meetings.

November 27, 2007
Hey, Mom, I am just trying to help sort the laundry by colors. While I was under the clothes checking everything out I noticed some skid marks, and Morgan here isn’t talking tires! I think you had best talk to Dad unless you suddenly started wearing Hanes Briefs made for men! Yuk, how disgusting. You know how he yells at us if we are rubbing our butts on the floor to remove a particle of poop, well he should talk! The good news is that I discovered Dad finally quit wearing those colorful bikini underwear…you know he isn’t getting any younger, hey, maybe that is the answer for the skid marks….TEE HEE. Ya gotta know this will be the last time I sort laundry for you.
PS: Make sure Dad doesn’t see this Foster Journal entry!

November 28, 2007
You know there is always something new happening around here. You see, Arpel has a very difficult time settling down at night. She prefers to sit on the computer chair behind Mom at night when Mom is working. The thing is we all take turns, but she isn’t into the sharing thing. Sooooo, she told Mom if she would put a bed on top of the dining room table she would be happy to settle in there. You see she has an obsession with the table. So this is where she sleeps until we all cuddle in on the futon. Hey, rule here is “Whatever our needs are, they are met”, no matter how strange they may be to others.

November 29, 2007
Jenna here would like some input from all of you. When I arrived, I had this stripped down puppy cut and thought I looked really sleek. Well, I have been informed that I need to let my hair grow out. Geez, look at me! My hair is sticking straight up on my head and I am getting these fuzzies all over my body. Mom keeps telling me this is the in between stage and before I know it I will have a long, beautiful Pekey coat. Now, the question I have is shouldn’t I be the one to make that decision? We all know long hair means more grooming and frankly I have more important things to do…like stealing treats, guarding the water bottle stands and patrolling for poop.

November 30, 2007
Here we are at the end of the month already and moving into one of the busiest Holiday months, anyway that is what Jazzlynn and Lorre have read. Lorre is whispering in my ear about all of the things she is looking forward to from Santa Claus. Because I am a bit older I will talk to her about other things that come along with Christmas. This is the time of year that so many families and friends come together to celebrate the meaning of Christmas. We hope all of you give those you love a special hug and a soft kiss upon their cheek. We wish we could all be with you so you could feel how much love we have for all.
